All animals sold have passed a semen evaluation. Any animal that has not proven itself a breeder within six months after date of sale may be returned to the seller at the buyer’s expense, if in healthy condition. The seller reserves the privilege of trying for a period of six months to prove the animal a breeder. The seller, at his option, may replace the animal with another of equal quality in full settlement. Should this not be possible, an adjustment will me made to reflect the value of the bull in question or a credit will be given toward the purchase of another bull. Any complaints regarding breeding difficulties must be reported in writing by the buyer to the seller within the specified time above, and any animal returned must be free from disease and in good health.

WELCOME TO THE MBC BLACK ANGUS BULL SALE Welcome to the MBC Angus bull sale. We are extremely grateful for those of you that have made it today. As a family operation that has been in the business for 137 years we know just how important it is for these bulls to produce high quality animals for any ranch. This year the bulls we are offering is one of the best groups I have seen in many years. They are easy to be around, showing us that they are nice and quiet to work with. We have had lots of comments on their docile nature ( just ask our bull photographer, Angela!), which is a big plus in our books. They are very uniform and have put on good winter flesh. These bulls need to be able to move and get animals bred with minimal expenses. In our operation we believe that to get high quality animals you need to have a cow herd that can range, breed back, calve with minimal assistance and keep flesh on forage. None of our cows are pampered. The purebred herd is run under the same conditions as the commercial herd at our place. The sires to all these bulls are tried in the commercial herd to be proven before becoming a part of the purebred program. We have daughters in the commercial herd out

of every sire group represented in this sale, so we know what these bulls can do for your herd. We start calving late March and finish by the end of May. We sell the commercial steers direct to local feedlots and get data back. The repeat comment on the steers is how there is a very high percentage that make top grade and how easily they put on weight with the grain they are given. We believe in cattle that flesh up easily and perform on minimal grain. These bulls have to do the job on forage so these bulls see a mainly forage diet throughout the winter. This year we also have a few ET calves on offer and they have been with the main group of bulls since weaning. These ET bulls are out of amazing genetics and they will perform phenomenally for you. These genetic packages donâ€™t come by at an everyday offering. The feeding program for this year is free choice hay and pea straw along with 9 lbs of corn with supplement. This goes to show what these bulls are capable of on minimal

grain. We believe in bulls that have good condition but are not over fat. These bulls need to be able to go to work at anytime. None of these bulls are leftovers, what you see is the entire bull calf crop. Only poor performers, poor conformation and bad temperament have been taken out of the group. This ensures you get the pick of the best bulls we have to offer. We are offering a chance for you to bid on a lot that is for the 2020 heifer calf crop. These calves havenâ€™t even been born yet which would ensure that you get to pick the best heifer calf out of the entire calf crop. F-R 198 4203B is the high selling bull we bought out of Frasers 2016 bull sale. He is a bull that can be used on cows but has the calving ease to be used on hfrs. We used him on hfrs the second year we had him because of the calf size we got out of the cows in the spring along with the fact the bull we were going to use on the hfrs broke his leg before turn out. All hfrs that were bred to him calved unassisted last spring. He goes back to a cow numbered 04 that is one of the top cows that walked on the fraser place. On 31 calves so far life ratio for bull calves is 101 and birth weight 73lbs and female calves life ratio is 106 and birth weight 71lbs. Ranks in the top 8% in the CAA for Maternal calving ease.

F-R Thunder 3044A was our pick of the yearling bulls we bought from the Fraser 2014 bull sale as a yearling. He was used in the commercial cow herd for 3 years before he was used on the purebred cattle. He is a thick stout bull that has a very moderate birth weight with very good growth. There is pinebank waigroup 41/97 on the maternal side of this bull along with 2 cows that are some of the best cows that ever walked on Murrays and they were 023 and 04. He ranks in the top 1% in the CAA for calving ease. Docility on these Thunder bloodline cattle is second to none.

Chapman Memento 0505x is a bull that Silas Chapman raised and kept to use himself. We liked what we saw when we went and looked at the calves that were sired by this bull so we bought semen on him to use in our AI program as an outcross to our cattle. They have lots of natural thickness and are very moderate frame and the females are very easy keeping cattle with good eye appeal to them.

CLLC Joker 582C a bull that was bought as an embryo out of the last dispersal sale of Dallas Jensens. He was sold in our 2017 sale to Murray Fraser and Chris Jensen, we retained a semen interest on this bull and are very happy with what he has been doing in our herd. His offspring are naturally thick animals with a moderate frame size and have lots of eye appeal. His sire Joker 6172S is noted for easy feed conversion and productive females. So far the male calves avg birth is 86, wr is 102, yr is 107.

He is a moderate framed bull and the females are very nice uddered and moderate sized. Murray liked him so much that he came back and took him and got semen drawn on him. He has very moderate birth to which have never had to assist any hfr bred to him this date. He goes back to 2 very good cows 094 and 04. Ask murray and he will even tell you that they were 2 of the best he had the pleasure of owning. Ranks in the top 10% in the CAA for Maternal calving ease.

Connealy Thunder is an AI bull that we have used on hfrs for the last 5 years with no issues and have bred him to a couple cows since to. He is a bull that gives you very good calving ease with very good performance. The cattle have good natural thickness and the young cows we have are very good udders with moderate frame and easy keeping females. In the USA he ranks in the top 15% for feed efficiency and dollar energy epd. He ranks top 3% in the CAA for maternal calving ease.

Nichols Extra H6 is an AI bull we have used for many years that is an EXT son that gives very good growth with it seems that extra rib in length. Moderate birth weight to which have used on hfrs with no problems and performance to be used on cows. Ranks in the top 15% for calving ease in the states and the top 1% for hfr fertility in the states. He was designated an elite sire in 2014. This bull is a very good thunder son for a heifers first calf. 650D is a very good young cow that is out of a bull that we bought from Murray Fraser that goes back to 094 to which is a cow that Murray would rank very high on his place. Her mother is a cow that was bought as a bred heifer for Brian Sutter and that cow goes back to right time on the top side and the old QAS Traveller bull on the maternal side. He has great depth of body and has a great spread from birth weight to weaning weight.

This bull is a very good 2063 son off a older cow. 2063 goes back to 094 again along with another cow numbered 04 that Murray would have great praise for. The cow 9710w was a cow that came from KFC out of BC as a bred hfr. 9710 is a bar ext 205 daughter which the bull was an ext on a traveller cow. Ext is a foundation sire in the angus breed along with traveller. We owned the cow family we bought 9710 mother and grandmother when KFC dispersed their cow herd. Good bull out of a proven cow family.
