All animals sold have passed a semen evaluation. Any animal that has not proven itself a breeder within six months after date of sale may be returned to the seller at the buyer’s expense, if in healthy condition. The seller reserves the privilege of trying for a period of six months to prove the animal a breeder. The seller, at his option, may replace the animal with another of equal quality in full settlement. Should this not be possible, an adjustment will me made to reflect the value of the bull in question or a credit will be given toward the purchase of another bull. Any complaints regarding breeding difficulties must be reported in writing by the buyer to the seller within the specified time above, and any animal returned must be free from disease and in good health.

WELCOME TO THE MBC BLACK ANGUS BULL SALE Welcome to the MBC Angus Bull Sale. We are extremely grateful for those of you that have made it today. This year the bulls we are offering is one of the best groups I have seen in many years. They are very docile and are easy to be around as well they are very uniform in size and have put on good winter flesh. As a family operation that has been in the business for 136 years we know just how important it is for these bulls to produce high quality animals for any ranch. These bulls need to be able to move and get animals bred with minimal expenses. In our operation we believe that to get high quality animals you need to have a cow herd that can range, breed back, calve with minimal assistance and keep flesh on forage. None of our cows are pampered. The purebred herd is run under the same conditions as the commercial herd at our place. The sires to all these bulls are tried in the commercial herd to be proven before becoming a part of the purebred program. We have daughters in the commercial herd out of every sire group represented in this sale, so we know what these bulls can do for your
herd. We start calving late March and finish by the end of May. We sell the commercial steers direct to local feedlots and get data back. The repeat comment on the steers is how there is a very high percentage that make top grade and how easily they put on weight with the grain they are given. We believe in cattle that flesh up easily and perform on minimal grain. These bulls have to do the job on forage so these bulls see a mainly forage diet throughout the winter. This year we also have a few ET calves on offer which are born later in the year but they have been with the main group of bulls since weaning. These ET bulls are out of amazing genetics and they will perform phenomenally for you. These genetic packages will not be seen anywhere else. The feeding program for this year is free choice hay and pea straw along with 8 lbs of rolled barley with supplement. This goes to show what these bulls are capable of on minimal grain.
None of these bulls are leftovers, what you see is the entire bull calf crop. Only poor performers, poor confirmation and bad temperament have been taken out of the group. This ensures you get the pick of the best bulls we have to offer. We are offering a chance for you to bid on a lot that is for the 2019 heifer calf crop. These calves haven’t even been born yet which would ensure that you get to pick the best heifer calf out of the entire calf crop. Connealy Thunder is an AI bull that we have used on heifers for the last 5 years with no issues and have bred him to a couple cows since too. He is a bull that gives you very good calving ease with very good performance. The cattle have good natural thickness and the young cows we have have very good udders with moderate frame and easy keeping females. N Bar EmulaKon EXT is a bull that was a huge influence in the angus breed. He was the udder fixer with his females being some of the best in the angus breed. He is an elite sire with thousands of daughters to back up his status in production over time. He ranks in the top 3% in the CAA for maternal calving ease. Nichols Extra H6 is an AI bull we have used for many years that is an EXT son that gives very good growth with it seems that extra rib in length. Moderate birth weight to which have used on heifers with no problems and performance to be used on cows. The H6 females have all been very good uddered and deep bodied with excellent feet that mature to a moderate frame sized cow. Final Answer 0035 is an AI bull we used for years on hfrs with no issues at all calving wasn’t Kll the last few years we started breeding him to cows in our AI program. The calves have a natural thickness to them and the females are producKve with very good udders. The only reason we have called a female was for age which was this fall and she was 11 or if it was open and there was only 2 of them so far to date and there is a far size bunch of them between the commercial and purebred herd. He has a dollar energy epd is plus
10.84 in the states. He ranks the top 1% for calving ease and the top3% for birth weight epd and maternal calving ease epd in the CAA rankings. Out 4084 calves born in Canada he has a life ratio 102 for male calves and 101 for hfr calves. He was designated an elite sire in 2016.

He is a moderate framed bull and the females are very nice uddered and moderate sized. Murray liked him so much that he came back and took him and got semen drawn on him. He has very moderate birth to which have never had to assist any heifer bred to him this date. He goes back to 2 very good cows 094 and 04. F-R 198 4203B is the high selling bull we bought out of Fraser’s 2016 bull sale. He is a bull that can be used on cows but has the calving ease to be used on hfrs. We used him on hfrs the second year we had him because of the calf size we got out of the cows in the spring along with the fact the bull we were going to use on the heifers broke his leg before turn out. All heifers that were bred to him calved unassisted last spring. He goes back to a cow numbered 04 that is one of the top cows that walked on the Fraser place. On 31 calves so far life ratio for bull calves is 101 and birth weight 73lbs and female calves life ratio is 106 and birth weight 71lbs. Ranks in the top 8% in the CAA for Maternal calving ease.
