The 2019-2020 Student Managed Farm Purebred Unit powered by New Holland would like to extend a warm welcome and invitation to the Beef Day sale held at the College March 20, 2020. We feel our bulls and females on offer may be of the highest quality offered to date. Throughout the catalogue we feel there are bulls to meet everybodyâ€™s needs whether you are looking for a calving ease sire or bulls to add that little extra weight to your calves in the fall. All bulls are developed over winter on a feeding program designed to promote longevity. We chose to continue offering replacement females this year. We have 6 replacement females on offer that will fit many breeding programs and have the potential to become great foundation females. The OAV cow herd was established in 1938. Females that have been retained to develop the herd, are held up to the highest standards of quality to ensure long lasting and efficient cattle. The Commercial Beef and Livestock Research units are joining us at beef day by offering heifers from the top end of their herds. The Commercial unit has chosen a tremendous group of Angus Simmental cross replacement heifers. The Livestock Research Unitâ€™s Angus Hereford bred heifers are also a quality group of heifers! We would like to wish everyone the best during calving season and into the rest of the year. We hope to see you all at Beef Day, March 20, 2020!

For those outside the radius we are happy to assist in transport arrangements to a central stockyard location within Canada and the Continental U.S..

This is a heifer that is held in high regard by the team, as she goes back to the Laura cow family a foundation female that has built our herd. This heifer held her own in a competitive class at bull congress this year placing 2nd and attracting a lot of attention. Over the last few months this heifer has come on in an explosive way. LIVESTOCK RESEARCH UNIT

The Livestock Research Unit would like to welcome you to the 2020 Beef Day sale. 2020 marks the 3rd year that the Livestock Research Unit is selling commercial bred heifers. This year we are offering four uniform Angus influenced bred heifers. We believe these females are low maintenance, moderate framed, and easy fleshing. They are due to start calving May 1st. The Livestock Research Unit runs a very extensive program that has a full herd health program. Our females have been residual feed intake tested to measure their feed efficiency. COMMERCIAL BEEF UNIT

The Commercial Beef SMF Unit is very excited to welcome you to the 2020 Beef Day sale. We have a great selection of Simmental/Angus X open replacement heifers on offer this year. These heifers were born between January and March 2019, and they have been selected for their structural soundness and exceptional performance. These heifers are smoothmuscled, track beautifully and are sure to produce quality calves for years to come. They are also very fast growing, and we feel that they have outstanding qualities that would make them a great fit for many different herd styles. Our unit takes pride in raising healthy animals on a herd health program that includes Bovi Shield Gold One Shot, Ultrabac 7 with Somubac and Ivermectin. Additionally, they will be palpated prior to sale day to ensure that they are reproductively sound.
