Fall has come quickly again whichs means it's catalogue time for you mailbox! It's a time of year which we all look forward to as it give us a chance to reflect on our calf crop and to get a look at other breeders’ cattle and what they are offering in the fall run. 2013 has been one of great optimism with abundant feed that has replenished the feed stacks in Ontario as goes along with a very strong cattle market. We are seeing cows at the yards bringing a new high and the yearling and stocker run is going over extremely well with prices never seen before in some cases. The cost of gain has fallen considerably for the feedyards, demand for beef cows is increasing exponentially as the shortage remains. What does this mean? Well, we've talked and dreamed about it for a long time, but those with cattle in their inventory are in a terrific position. Nothing brings a smile to our faces faster then strong prices and an active market! The Blue Water Club Sale, again for the 66th consecutive year, has put together a strong lineup of Angus genetics that have proven themselves numerous times over the years to be a great investment. In 2011 we purchased two Lookout Pacesetter 258M daughters at the Roy Bjorklund dispersal. Roy’s Pacesetter females were an elite group of cows that sold extremely well for him. This year we have 4 heifer calves sired by the Pacesetter bull and they are flat out good. The dam of 9A is one of my foundation Pacesetter females that we bought out of Northern Alberta. The cow is nicely profiled, strong topped and beautifully uddered. Double AA Old Post Bandolier, who is well known for his productive females and stout bulls, is the sire of our 9A heifer .

TERMS: Unless otherwise previously arranged with an individual consignor, terms of this sale are cash payable in Canadian funds at the prevailing rate of exchange on the day of sale. All cattle may be held until the selling agent is satisfied that suitable arrangements for payment are made. 2. IN THE CASE Of IllNESS, a veterinarian will be called by the Sales Manager if deemed necessary, but any expense involved will be the responsibility of the CONSIGNOR until the animal is sold and the PURCHASER thereafter. 3. AS SOON AS AN ANIMAl IS SOlD, it becomes the responsibility of the purchaser. 4. BIDS: Every animal entering the sale ring will be sold to the highest bidder. There will be no by-bidding by the owner or anyone authorized by him, however, the owner will be permitted one protective bid. 5. DISPUTES: In case of disputes, bidding will be reopened between the parties involved. If no further bid is made, the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. 7. CERTIfICATE Of REgISTRY: A CANADIAN certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer for each animal after settlement is made. 8. SHIPPINg: Assistance will be given in making shipment after the sale, but no risk is assumed by the Castlerock Marketing or the seller. Expenses incurred are the responsibility of the purchaser. Purchasers are requested to furnish shipping instructions when making settlement. 9. BREEDERS gUARANTEE: The terms standard with the Canadian Angus Association shall apply. Beyond that: (a) All animals sold are guaranteed breeders. (b) All bred females have been declared safe in calf by a qualified veterinarian. Pregnant females are guaranteed pregnant a minimum of ninety (90) days. (c) All mature females raised a calf in this year. (d) All calendar year heifers are guaranteed open at time of sale. Any animal that has not proven itself a breeder within six months after the date of sale, if, in healthy condition, may be returned to seller at buyer’s expense. The seller reserves the privilege of trying for a period of six months to prove the animal a breeder. The seller, at his option, may either return the purchase price to the buyer or replace the animal with another of equal value in full settlement and satisfaction of ALL claims. Any complaints regarding fertility of any animal in this sale shall be directed to the Contributor.
All complaints regarding breeding difficulties must be reported in writing by the buyer to the seller within the time specified above and any animal returned must be free from disease and in good health. Any calendar year heifer calf shown and/or flushed by the purchaser is no longer guaranteed a breeder under this paragraph #9. 10. ACCIDENTS: Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of the buyers, neither the Auction Market, the Sales Manager, nor any owner assumes any responsibility in this matter and disclaims any liability legal or otherwise in the event of accident of loss of property. 11. lIABIlITY: Saskatoon Livestock Auction and Castlerock Marketing are acting as agents only and assume no responsibility for representations made by the seller.
