ince this is the beginning of the Sweetheart month, I first of all want to wish you all a very Happy Valentine’s Day! With the snow slowly melting and the sun coming out more and more, it’s beginning to look a lot like Spring and that’s a good thing!
I hope you are enjoying our new online issues. You can pull up our magazine anytime, anywhere on your ipad, phone or computer and get a burst of Cowgirl Style. We are still including our print issues. They will be our Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter issues. We are finding this to be a much more universal way of getting our magazine to everyone. It’s also a affordable way for advertisers to be included in our magazine. We want to feature all Cowgirl Fashion and not just the companies that can afford it! We’re jump starting the Cowgirl Fitness Challenge in this issue, so read up and then go to the Cowgirl Fitness website where you can sign up. Also, we are featuring a whole lot of Romantic Cowgirl Fashion! Beautiful pieces from Marrika Nakk and photographed by talented Laura McClure. A beautiful tribute to romantic cowgirl style. With Valentine’s Day coming up, here a few tips to make that date special!
W
hen is the last time you wrote a letter to the person you’re dating or are married to, to share just how much you care? Letter writing is a great way to start or end a special night. This Valentine’s Day, try this and see what kind of reaction you get. We have compiled various ideas to make your Valen
tine’s Day or any other date night special. We have also included some ideas that were sent in by our Facebook fans below. Whatever your date night entails, just make sure that you include a bit of fun, food and romance. These are a few ingredients that make a date night memorable.
Country Dating Ideas sent in by our Readers... • Horseback Riding ending with a picnic • Clean out the barn and end up making a fort out of the bales of hay where you can sit and talk and relax with each other. • Drift out on a boat for hours talking • Harley ride through the backroads 26 | Cowgirls In Style | February/March 2014
Tips for the nd Single... For Anyone... • Hand write a letter of appreciation to someone you love, and send it to them via snail mail, anonymously. • Send yourself a love letter • Write love notes to yourself and/or your partner all over the house in unexpected places: on each individual egg in the carton, on a piece of parchment paper still on the roll, as a bookmark.. you get the idea. Get even more creative and use soap to write the love note on the bathroom mirror, or use Rolaids to write on a wall (both will appear unexpectedly!) • Buy yourself a book of love poetry, and make a commitment to read one poem every night before bed, or upon arising each morning;
For Married Couples... • Handwrite a love note and turn it into a jigsaw puzzle. Hide the pieces all over the house, or mail each piece individually to your partner; • Buy small things that represent something sexy and/or sensual, write a note on or with them saying how hot you are for them, and either leave them around the house, or snail mail the gifts to your partner. Some ideas: hot sauce, instant hand warmers, cinnamon hearts, sexy lingerie, a candle, tea - bonus points on the last one if it’s a spicy chai (Buy Direct); • Write a love letter and cut it up into bite-sized pieces. Then, hide a note in every room in the house; • Pick out some of your favorite romantic quotes and have them printed out on your own cards (Buy Direct) or hit the local greeting card store and buy out all of the cards you love. Put one on your love’s bedside table for them to find every morning, or somewhere else they’re sure to see them, every day, for the next 30 days.

Many think George Strait as being ‘The Ultimate Cowboy.’

When I think of my ultimate cowboy, I think of my husband. Not only is he a handsome, rugged man, he has a tender side which illuminates in the way he treats me. It’s time to start the Cowgirl Fit Challenge! Are you ready? t’s time to announce the Cowgirl Fit Challenge! The new year has begun and have you fallen off the fitness wagon? If you have, we are here to bring you a new incentive! We are starting the Cowgirl Fitness Challenge, which we will describe in detail.

First, you will need to sign up on our website to be included in the challenge. You will have one month to get you jump started on your way to health and fitness. Yes, the contest is only for a month! After you have signed up at www.CowgirlFit.com, we will go through the applications and pair you up with a team member. You will be working in pairs, with an email pal that will help you get in the best shape possible in 40 days! If you have a friend that you would like to be teamed up with, please indicate it on the form and we will do our best to accommodate the request. If not, you will be paired with a partner from some other state or country depending upon the applications that we receive. We will continue to list ideas for workouts, meals on our Facebook page, but it is your responsibility to figure out the best way for you to lose weight and get in shape. This contest will last for 30 days and the pair that lose the most weight in the end of the 30 days will get 1st place.
