New Interns at KCA
Carson Pemberton of Hopkinsville, Kentucky has been selected as a 2022 Spring Communications Intern for Kentucky Cattlemen’s Association. Carson, the daughter of Laurie and Don Pemberton, was raised around the cattle industry with both her mom and dad’s family owning beef cows, stocker, and cattle procurement operations. Carson has seen the passion, hard work, and long hours put into the business by all involved. From late nights at the barn to listening to her mom coordinating truckers throughout her various activities, she learned at a very young age that this business was a family affair. Throughout high school, Carson was actively involved in her FFA chapter. From involvement in public speaking, Farm Management competitions, coordinating events for her chapter, and much more, it served a key role in her high school experience. Currently, Carson is a senior at the University of Kentucky majoring in Integrated Strategic Communications. She will be attending optometry school at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee this fall. Carson grew up watching her dad be a very active participant and leader in Kentucky Cattlemen’s Association and National Cattlemen’s Beef Association. She has attended many conventions, county cattlemen’s meetings, and trade shows. Thus, when searching for a communication internship Carson was excited at the prospect of furthering her own involvement with the cattle organization. Carson has seen the lasting impact that Kentucky Cattlemen’s Association can have on those involved. Her goal is to help to promote and advocate for the beef industry in any way she can.
