On February 26, the Twin Lakes Association held its first quarterly meeting of 2022 at the Clinton County Extension office in Albany. A good crowd of 45 attended the meeting. The evening started with a beef burger meal cooked by the cooking team of TLCA. The half pound Cattlemans burger that is sourced through Krogers from Beef Solutions was served on the menu. The Clinton county FFA members served the meal. Following the meal, Jay Craig, auctioneer and local member provided his services to auction a 1 liter bottle of Dectomax that was donated by Burkmann Nutrition of Glasgow. All proceeds from the auction were donated to the FFA chapter in appreciation for helping serve the meal. The evening’s featured speaker was Dan Miller from Beef Solutions. Dan gave a very informative and interesting talk explaining the procedure for submitted slaughter cows to Beef Solutions. Some of the Twin Lakes members had recently delivered cattle through the program and shared their personal experiences. Following Dan’s presentation, the local group expressed much interest in trying to pool a group of cattle for delivery later in the spring. Business items from the group that were discussed included announcing the members only mineral buying program, cooking fundraisers for Beef month in May, and sponsoring the local CAIP program again for 2022 by the Twin Lakes association.
