Franklin D. “Frankie” Ginn, age 87, of Milton, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, December 18, 2020 at the King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison, Indiana. He was born February 19, 1933 in Bedford, Kentucky, the son of William A. and Edith (Jones) Ginn. Mr. Ginn was a 1953 graduate of Trimble County High School and a U.S. Army veteran, having served his country during and after the Korean Conflict at Fort Hood, Texas and Fort Knox, Kentucky. He was a tank commander for the 3rd Armored Division. Earlier in his life, he worked for the Rotary Lift company in Madison for thirteen years and then Kentucky Utilities in Ghent, Kentucky for twentyfour years. He worked as a maintenance foreman at KU and retired in 1995. In addition to his professional life Mr. Ginn was a lifelong farmer. Mr. and Mrs. Ginn purchased a farm in Milton in 1965 where they farmed cattle, tobacco, corn, hay, raised a garden, and three children. He was a former member of Union Grove Baptist Church, and currently a member of Mt. Byrd Christian Church, where he served as deacon and currently as an elder. Mr. Ginn was a member of

the Kentucky Cattlemen’s Association, the Trimble County Extension Board, and the Trimble County Antique Tractor Club. He enjoyed farming, gardening, camping, and traveling with friends. Surviving are two sons and daughtersin-law: William “Bill” (Vickie) Ginn of Bedford, Cecil Douglas (Karen) Ginn of Lakeside Park, Kentucky; one daughter and son-in-law, Lisa (Tony) Hammock of Madison, Indiana; one sister, Alice Louise Welty of Madison; one brother, Paul William Ginn of Madison; one sister in-law, Margie Ginn of Madison, Indiana; seven grandchildren: Jason (Jodi) Ginn; Brooke (Brian) Tingle; Matthew (Ally Hargrave) Ginn; Joel Ginn; Tanner Hammock; Alexandra Hammock; and Sydney Mary Margaret Hammock; five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret Louise (Hackett) Ginn, to whom he was married for fiftynine years before her death on November 26, 2015; and three brothers: Glen Ginn, Jim Ginn and Maurice “Peanuts” Ginn. Robert “Bobby” Dean Shilts, 84 of Irvington, passed away on December 18, 2020 at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital Extended Care. He was born August 22, 1936 in Jamestown, KY. to the late Helen Haynes Chinn. Preceding him in death is one brother, Billy Jones. Bobby was a farmer and retired from Olin Corporation Doe Run Plant Brandenburg, KY., an active member of Irvington United Methodist Church, and a member of Irvington Masonic Lodge F&AM #868. He was very active in the Breckinridge County Cattleman’s Association, being inducted into the Kentucky Cattleman’s Association Hall of Fame in 2017. He was a former board member at United Producers, Inc. as well as a former member of the Breckinridge County Hospital Board. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening; however, nothing compared to the immense love he had for his family. Bobby is survived by: his loving wife of 62 years, Mary Rollie Carden Shilts; his three sons, Jerry Shilts of Hardinsburg, Barry Shilts of Brandenburg, and Todd (Amanda) Shilts of Webster; his grandchildren, Dean (Marah) Shilts, Morgan (Caitlin) Shilts, Eleanor (Joe) Tarr, Matthew Shilts, Jacob Shilts, Madeline Shilts, and Caroline Shilts; his great-grandchildren, Beckham Shilts and Carden Tarr; and one brother, Melvin Shilts.
