SandKast is a set of luxury, design driven beach toys with an emphasis on quality and sustainability. The set is made up of a modular bucket, which includes a water bucket, sand castle mould and rock sieve, and a spade. All of the components work together to give a unique and seamless experience.

Design opportunity Current, ‘traditional’ beach toys are seen as cheap throw away items in western society, broken buckets and spades litter beaches and their design is dated and uninspiring. However in developing countries broken beach toys can not be seen on beaches as they are more valuable to their users due to a lower disposable income, this shows that the issue lies both with construction and quality of the toys but also their perceived value within society. Young trendy parents who use social media platforms such as Instagram place their views and style preferences onto their children and luxury childrens products are increasingly popular almost as an accessory for the parents.

Sustainable - Sandkast is made from recycled ocean bound polymers. The product is also designed to last for a lifetime.

Ergonomic - The unique two handle spade gives the user an ergonomic and enjoyable experience.

Modular - The bucket set features a modular design. This allows for easy storage and also encourages the user to look after the set.

Design Driven - The set of toys has been designed with aesthetics as one of the main considerations separating it from current toys.

Accommodates for All The way the bucket locks into the spade allows it to rotate in the hole. The means that the bucket will always sit up-right no matter the height of the user.

This allows children to drag full, very heavy buckets of sand and water rather than carry and spill it in a bucket.

Smoke Machine

The smoke machine component exterior is made up of four distinct injection moulded panels. The panel encase the heating , liquid and electronic components that allow smoke to be produced.

Lighting

The lighting component LEDs are encased by two injection moulded shells made from ABS. These encasing protect the power supply, heat sink, PCB board and the COB LEDs inside that in tandem produce the lighting effects for the Dionecho.

Capturing surrounding noise frequencies, the noise generator emits the exact opposite signal as a personalised coloured noise to its environment.

Bambloss Keeping your mouth healthy is a daily commitment, and the public tend to avoid flossing altogether, due to the fact that it is associated with dread, neglect, or guilt.

Many have no clue about the risks involved in the negligence of one’s oral care and hygiene.

Primarily, flossing will help reduce risk of gingivitis – gum inflammation – which could develop into periodontitis – gum disease. However, many studies have shown that gum disease is also linked to heart disease, rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes, lung disease, and many other health conditions.

The maintenance of oral health is a life skill that will have long term effects, not only on tooth decay but to a life free from disability.

Rebranding oral hygiene as a wellness experience.

The Bambloss is the first ever 2-in-1 Dualended Ultrasonic flosser, featuring a floss band holding head, with a removable tongue scraper bottom. Operating at 3 frequencies, switching between sonic and ultrasonic, for ease of use and removal of plaque and debris in-between teeth. Due to the nature of the ultrasonic technology, the user doesn’t require to put in much effort as a lot of the work is done thanks to the vibrations! The product’s ability to create convenience, especially for people with multiple types of disabilities, makes the Bambloss a revolutionary product.

The problems

All the children within a special needs classroom aren’t able to partake in music class due to them being unable to operate traditional instruments. This may be because of a severe physical or mental disability.

Music therapy can reduce stress and promote relaxation.

It’s been shown to be more effective than prescription drugs

This product range allows all children to be involved in a music lesson within a special needs school. Each device is specifically designed to provide a sensory rich experience for the users. The motion sensing device is perfect for the most physically disabled within the classroom as it senses motion of any kind and can be mounted to a wheelchair via the mounting system. This device also illuminates as well as producing sound to enable users with hearing impairments to use the product. The devices connect to the mount via built in magnets. The most visual device is the laser beam, the user simply has to break the laser beam with any part of their body in order to produce a sound. Again this enables all users regardless of their disability to use the device to its full potential. The fibre optic device is both tactile and visually stimulating, as when the user strokes the fibre optics sound is produced, the fibre optics illuminate and tactile feedback from the fibre optics is felt.

This is perfect for users with reduced sensitivity as it provides a multi-sensory experience. Wireless charging allows for ease of use within the classroom.

The idea BuzzMaths is a interaction learning tool/game designed to help improve children ability to learn key maths skills through fun and interactive play.

Designed primarily for children aged 8-12 its purpose to build up and gain knowledge of maths skills from multiplication to equation solving, BuzzMaths aims to improve these skills whilst provided challenge and competitiveness.

• BuzzMaths utilises cards to help teach quick maths skills • Comes in various forms of maths such as multiplication, answers and custom blank cards corresponding to modes on buzzer • 2-6 players compete against each other to be first to get 10 cards as buzzer announces questions or answers e.g “Find 36/6” or “5x10”
