PURA-TECT

Outdoor air pollution has grown by 8% in the last 5 years. With densely populated urban regions being at a larger risk due to urbanisation & high level of traffic; “PURA-TECT” offers an alternative method in combating the rise in outdoor air pollution by combining the use of air ionisers and public bus shelters to target polluted hotspots.

Luça is a solar-powered portable mosquito-repelling device. The idea is derived from the mosquito-borne diseases. It wishes to give a hope to people who are suffering from mosquito bites. Herb-scented refill is placed, and the scent is released by a fan to deter mosquitoes. And the light lightens up their night and life.

Empati is a sign language and sound translator that brings two worlds together. Adolescent fast bowlers are the athletes most prone to injury; 65% of 18-year-olds suffer from spinal fractures, primarily caused by poor technique. Nothing is available to help amateur club coaches remedy this. This kit, comprising a wearable with sensors to analyse lumbar position, a resistance harness to counter spinal flexion and an alignment mat, aims to address this.

The idea for Dispensease came as a result of an elderly relative constantly being hospitalised due to poor medication compliance. Dispensease is a group of products which teamed with a smart watch prompts the user to take their medication at the correct times, giving feedback to the carers/family as to whether medication has been correctly taken or not.
