Jaimee Paul
A rare artist
Jaimee Paul’s life revolves around two things: art and animals.

She creates work from her studio, Our Place, where her ‘Art For Purpose’ takes on a life of its own—from lions to rhinoceroses, koalas to kangaroos, right down to even the smallest honeybee.
Jaimee’s paintings of wildlife are a rare and precious gift. Each exquisite piece captures the spirit and personality of the animal it represents, down to the very whiskers and curves of the tail.

Inspired by her own childhood experiences, she is drawn to the unique personalities of animals. “Animals have such personality. Everyone is so different and complex, and I try to uncover their spirit in my paintings,” explains Jaimee.

Since 2004, Jaimee has called Brookvale her creative home. She is a co-founder of the Brookvale Arts District and La Crème Creative Inc, founder of NinetyFive Percent—an Art for Oceans charity exhibition, and founding member of artist-run, Sydney Road Gallery in Seaforth.
In addition to creating paintings for exhibitions, Jaimee also creates commissioned artworks and pet portraits for her clients, as well as teaching art classes on the side. •
“Animals have a certain place, a voice in our lives, and I hope that my art evokes emotions from audiences not usually partial to staring inside the eyes and soul of a furry being.”
Jaimee’s work is sensitive and uncanny, resembling her subjects in a way that seems direct and familiar. Traveling with and observing animals inspires her work; she believes that “whatever the world needs at the time,” she paints it.
