Fondly known as the “silly season” at 4 Wing, mid-December is traditionally a time of competition, activities, and celebrations. The festive spirit and comradery really comes alive on the Wing with team luncheons, hockey games, office decorating competitions, unit dinners, the “At Home”, and Wing walk-around. This year we have been forced to forego almost all of these important traditional events in the interest of keeping everyone safe and healthy. We have made hard decisions this year, but they have been made for the right reasons. Although the 2020 holiday season will not look or feel the same as in previous years, it may be an opportunity to start some new personal or family
traditions. You may not be able to reunite with your family and friends in person, but we encourage you to stay connected to others as much as possible. You may not feel like you need to stay connected, but the person on the other end of your text, call, email, letter, or online game might really need to hear from someone. Please remember that we have many great support services available within the Wing and community for you and your family members. Wing Chief Warrant Officer (WCWO) Darling and I encourage you to print or save a copy of the 4 Wing Support Contacts card that’s available from the splash page or on the 4 Wing Cold Lake Information Facebook Group. The 4 Wing Support Contacts card is a comprehensive list of the supports services available on the Wing and in the community. You never know when you might need to help yourself or a friend.
