Annual Lost N Lava Cowboy Gathering Defeats for District IV

This Friday and Saturday, the Annual Lost N Lava Cowboy Gathering begins in Shoshone at the Lincoln County Community Center and Fairgrounds. Free Day Shows will begin at 10:00. Evening Concerts begin at 7:00 pm with a pre-show beginning at 6:15 pm. Reserved Tickets are $25.00 per night and General Admission tickets are $20.00 each night or $35.00 for both nights. Andy has a varied repertoire that includes classic cowboy poetry recitations, obscure cowboy songs, dust bowl ballads, and blues. Andy has released nine albums including four joint projects with songwriter Andy Wilkinson. Andy is a National Cowboy Poetry Gathering regular and has performed with Waddie Mitchell, Michael Martin Murphy, Don Edwards, Randy Rieman, “Ramblin” Jack Elliot and many more.

SPOTLIGHT: Thatch Elmer has been reciting Cowboy Poetry since he was old enough to speak a complete sentence. At 13-yearsold, Thatch enjoys writing and reciting originals along with reciting the classics. Thatch is a Co-Recipient of the First annual “Rod McQueary/Sue Wallis” scholarship award which was presented to him at the 2014 National Cowboy Poetry Gathering (NCPG) in Elko Nevada. In 2015 he was an invited and featured Poet at the NCPG, and returned in 2016 as an invited and featured Entertainer. Thatch is also a published poet on Cowboypoetry.com and in the book “Cowboy Rhymes-N-Dreams of Other Times”, to be Cowboy Poetry titled “The First Go Round”. Friday night’s football games revealed crushing defeats for District IV. The Camas County Mushers stood off against the Carey Panthers on Friday, September 7 at Dona Larsen Park. The Panthers blew through the Mushers 44-0. The Hagerman Pirates didn’t fair any better against the Lighthouse Christian Lions with a score of 8-44 while the Rockland Bulldogs crushed the Shoshone Indians during the Indians home game ending with a score of 12-40. The Gooding Senators traveled to the Fruitland Grizzlies home turf only to be defeated with a score of 19-41. The Wendell Trojans faced off against the Malad Dragons ending in a crushing defeat of 19-44. The Murtaugh Red Devils pummeled the Dietrich Blue Devils winning 42-14 while the Richfeild Tigers suffered a loss against the Castleford Wolves 18-56 at the Tigers home game. On Tuesday, September 4, the high school girls volleyball teams paired off with the Senators defeating the Kimberly Bulldogs with a win of 3-0. The Blue Devils suffered defeat during both Tuesday’s and Thursday’s matches with a defeat of 2-3 with the Castleford Wolves and 0-3 against the Hansen Huskies. The Pirates followed the Blue Devils trend during the Pirates home game against the Huskies losing 1-3 on Tuesday. The Pirates continued the losses on Thursday’s match with the Shoshone Indians coming in at 23. The Indians also defeated the Raft River Trojans with a win of 3-0 on their own turf. The Camas County Mushers traveled to the Community School Cutthroats on Tuesday and suffered a defeat by the Cutthroats 0-3. The Wendell Trojans suffered the same crushing defeat during their home game against the Filer Wildcats during Thursday’s match of 0-3. During Tuesday’s match at Sun Valley Community School, the boys soccer team, the Senators, were defeated by the Cutthroats in a match of 6-2. The Senators suffered yet another defeat on Wednesday against the Wendell Trojans in a match of 0-3 while the Bliss Bears crushed the Kimberly Bulldogs in a match of 8-0. In girls soccer, the Senators were taken by the Cutthroats in a match of 0-9 on Tuesday at the Senators home turf. The Wendell Trojans defeated the Senators on Wednesdays match with a score of 4-0 while the Bulldogs stomped the Bears with a win of 6-0 during Wednesday night’s match in Bliss.
