Lost n’Lava Cowboy Gathering

This weekend, September 8th - 10th, the Lost N Lava Trail Ride will roll along the trail at the Barney Ranch (West Magic, Idaho). The trail ride will be an adventure for all participants with three days of horseback riding, music around the campfire, authentic western cooking, and plenty of Tall Tales! To learn more, contact Trail Bosses Richard & Eric Barney at 208-490-3291 or 208886-7787. Tickets are $100 for the weekend or $35 per day. Next weekend, September 15th & 16th, the Lincoln County fairgrounds will host the 8th Annual Lost n’Lava Cowboy Gathering featuring cowboy music and poetry. Each day will start with a free “Day Show” on the main indoor stage, and open mic sessions outside in the vendor area (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.). Evening shows will begin at 6:15 with the pre-show and the main concerts will fire up at 7:00. During the day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. come check out the vendors and the Mountain Man Rendezvous. This year’s Lost n’Lava will include a silent auction and a raffle. This year’s raffle item is a Henry Golden Boy .22 Rifle with a box of bullets. Tickets - $5.00 each or 5 for $20.00 - can be purchased at 2nd Time Around Antique Mall (102 South Rail Street E, Shoshone) or from any Lost N Lava Member. If the evening shows just arent’ enough, each evening after the show, mosey on over the the McFall Hotel for a jam session. It’s bound to be an amazing time of music and fun. On Sunday morning, September 17th, don’t miss Cowby Church. There’ll be good old time gospel music and preaching of the Work like only cowboys can do.

Country Blossoms in Wendell

Taking a dream or a passion and turning it into a business can be one of the most rewarding things in life. It’s not always easy, but if you don’t try, you’ll always wonder... what if? Michelle Amoth is not wondering, she is putting her love of flowers to the test in Wendell with the opening of Country Blossoms at 120 West Main (just across the street from the Maverik store. The flower shop may be small, but Michelle gives big service with in town delivery ($10) and out of town deliveries ($1 per mile). She has lots of floral design ideas to help you say just the right thing to your special someone, or just to brighten up your day. Come on in and help a little girl’s dream come to life. Shoshone School Bond Fails

Last week’s School Bond Election in Shoshone failed to meet the two-thirds approval needed to pass. Of the 1210 eligeble voters, 281 ballots were cast (23.2% voter turn out). There were 165 yes votes and 117 no votes. The 59% approval left the school district about 20 votes short of passing the bond election.
