Gooding’s High Desert Speedway will host a weekend of Motorcycle racing beginning this Friday, August 19th. Gates open at 10, racing starts at noon. On Saturday, August 20th, there will be live music after the last race. Health Advisory For Morman Reservoir
On Friday, August 12th, a health advisory was issued for Mormon Reservoir by the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) and the South Central Public Health District (SCPHD). The DEQ reports that a local veterinarian recently treated a dog that later died. Based on the symptoms, the veterinarian suspects that the dog might have died due to exposure to toxins produced by a harmful algal bloom. While the cause of death is still under investigation, the animal recently had contact with algal blooms at Mormon Reservoir. Based on a visual inspection of Mormon Reservoir, DEQ was able to confirm the presence of a cyanobacteria bloom, also known as blue-green algae. “Fair-A-Dise” in Gooding
The Gooding County Fair Parade begins TONIGHT at 7:00 p.m. Sign up begins at 4 p.m. behind ISDB. Large entries (tractors, trucks, etc.) can line up along Main Street south of 13th Avenue. There is no fee to enter.
