Human Caused Fire Near Bliss

Monday afternoon a range fire was reported approximately seven miles northeast of Bliss. As of Tuesday morning, the Bray Fire was at 12,000 acres due to high winds causing the fire to have multiple heads and burn in several directions. Fueled by dry grass and brush, firefighters are working hard to protect structures. Fire crews worked through the night to secure the northern flank with dozer line and a back burn. Ground and air resources worked together to create containment lines along the southern half of the fire. Initial fire crews included Gooding Rural Fire Department, Hagerman Rural Fire Department, Bliss Rural Fire Department, five fire managers, two dozers, one water tender, one hand crew, 10 engines, and multiple aerial resources. Crews from Twin Falls District BLM and Sawtooth National Forest remain on scene. Firefighters continue to face difficult weather conditions with high winds, high temperatures, and low relative humidity predicted for the next several days. Fire investigators did determined the fire was human caused but no additional information has be released. There is no estimated time for containment or control.
