News History Days in Shoshone
Next weekend, May 28th and 29th, the Lincoln County Historical Society will be hosting their Annual History Day on the Lincoln County Courthouse Lawn in Shoshone, Idaho. Along with the opening of the Historical Museum for the season, this event will include live demonstrations, vendors, the Shoshone Firefighters Association Breakfast, and the History Day Parade. Activities for History Days on Saturday, May 28th begin at 10 a.m. and end at 5 p.m. Events continue on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Firefighters Breakfast will be held at the Community Center (201 South Beverly) begin-
ning at 7 a.m. on Saturday morning. The History Day Parade is sponsored by the Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce and will begin at 12 noon on Saturday. Parade will begin at the Fairgrounds at the corner of South Beverly and East B Street and continuing to South Apple to North Rail. Then the Parade will continue to the Lincoln County Care Center and then back to the Courthouse Lawn. Registration for entries will begin at 11:00 am at the Corner of South Beverly and East B at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds. Parade categories include Group 1 - Civic & Service Organizations, Groups or Clubs; Group 2 - Business & Commercial Group; Group 3 - Antique Vehicles, Tractors & Etc.; Group 4 - Horse / Equestrian. The State Track Tournament will be held in Middleton this Friday and Saturday. Each day’s events will begin at 9 a.m. with the field events. On Saturday, May 21st, the Parade of Athletes will be held at 11:30 a.m. followed by the finals in the track events at 12:30 p.m.
