The Camas County Fairboard is hosting a St. Patrick’s Day Dance at the Legion Hall this Friday, March 15th, from 6:30 pm to 10:30 p.m. This is a fundraiser for this year’s fair & carnival rides, so come enjoy the fun now... and later this year. Presale tickets are $10 per person, $15 per couple, or $25 per family. Tickets at the door are $15 per person, $20 per couple, or $30 per family. The evening will have free popcorn, cotton candy, punch and coffee, a necklace contest, and... raffle prizes. The 50/50 Raffle features gift certificates from Soldier Creek Brewing, Small Town Swank, Petals-n-Posies, and a full body massage by Soldier Creek Therapeutic Massage. There are also two “Date Night” packages: a $25 gift certificate at the Red Elephant and 2 movie tickets w/popcorn at the Big Wood 4 in Hailey. Raffle tickets are one for $1 or six for $5. Art Show & Tumbleweed Race Great Volunteer of the Year

This Friday & Saturday, March 15 & 16, the Lincoln County Historical Society will be hosting their Spring Art Show at the Lincoln County Museum (112 West B Street in Shoshone). The show - featuring photography, paintings, carvings, ceramics, jewelry, and much more - will be open from 5 to 8 on Friday and 10 to 4 on Saturday. On Sunday, March 17th, come enjoy or... join, the Tumbleweed Race Parade starting at 2:00 p.m. Awards will be given for best livestock, best machinery, and best dressed man & woman (line up is on North Rail Street). Following the parade, there will be a potluck at the Iron Horse Saloon and activities for the children. If you need more information, contact Leigh Kelley at 208-886-2016.

Diana Rowe has been selected by the Board of Directors of Gooding Restoration for Entertainment, Arts and Theater, Inc. as the first recipient to receive the Volunteer of the Year Award for 2018 for her outstanding work and time spent as a volunteer for the restoration of the historic Schubert Theatre. “Diana’s contributions for the past year include: creating the graphics for our flyers for the Schubert’s event fundraisers, posting events and reminders on Facebook, serving as Mrs. Claus and Esmerelda, decorating the theatre, finding other volunteers and so much more. We especially applaud Diana for her most enduring contributions of advocating for the restoration of the historic Schubert and her passion for this historic project.” GREAT INC. is planning their 3rd Annual Unicorn Day Event to be held in June this year at the Gooding County Fairgrounds.
