Richfield Boys Take 2nd at State
Last Thursday, the Richfield Tigers went to the State Tournament with high hopes of bringing home their first ever Championship trophy. They started with an easy win over Clark Fork 67 to 38, then went on to take out Watersprings 65 to 50.

On Saturday two Tiger teams faced off against each other at the Ford Idaho Center for the 1AD2 championship. The first quarter had Richfield up by 3 points (18-14), but at the half-time buzzer, Kendrick had blazed ahead to a 12 point lead (26-38). In the third quarter, Richfield whittled away at Kendrick's lead to enter the 4th quarter at 41 to 47.

With half a minute left in the game, Richfield brought the game to 57 to 59. The last 30 seconds of the game saw the ball change hands with fouls, missed free throws, and with a half a second left, Richfield grabed a missed free throw by Kendrick and ended the game with a missed full-court throw giving Kendrick the Championship.
The 1AD2 Sawtooth Conference handed out its Coach of the Year award to Richfield's Chris Taber. Clay Kent was awarded MVP for the season and Luke Dalton received Offensive Player of the Year. Camas County's Troy Smith won the Defensive Player of the Year award.
