Lincoln County “Festival of Trees” Your Friday Lunch Destination! During the month of December, the Camas Senior Center will have special events on Fridays during lunch. This Friday, December 7, enjoy ham, scalloped potatoes, and brownie sundaes, and listen to guest speaker, Elaine Webb, talk about Vietnamese foods (includes a taste of Elaine’s specialties and authentic Vietnamese door prizes). On December 14th they will have BBQ chicken, mashed potatoes, and peanut butter pie. There will be a special appearance by a fun high school musical group - guitar, piano, bells, choir - and a pool tournament after dinner (with prizes for winners). December 21st is a must come with meltin-your-mouth Prime Rib roast and community dessert samples (bring your favorite Christmas recipe and five samples - cookies, candies, whatever) It will be a party with live music, sing-along songs, door prizes, and bingo with prizes after dinner. Be sure to bring an unwrapped toy for under the tree (to be donated to local children). The Christmas Shop will be open on these day too. On Friday, December 28, Come listen to the “Cliff Gals” and hear the fascinating story of how a biologist and a gal from a fishing boat in ALASKA ended up in FAIRFIELD... and sample their specialties! The Camas Senior Center is planning to feature all of Fairfield’s restaurants and businesses in their upcoming lunches. Everyone is welcome. Lunch prices are $4 (60 plus), $4.50 (10-59), and $2.50 (2-9)
The Lincoln County Festival of Trees will be held at the Lincoln County Community Center (201 South Beverly St. Shoshone) on December 8th at 4 p.m. Trees will be on display in conjunction with Lost N Lava Community Christmas Potluck. There will be an live auction during the evening to auction off all the donated trees and wreaths. Money raised from the Festival of Trees will fund a scholarship fund for students in Shoshone, Dietrich, and Richfield Schools. The Lost N Lava Potluck will begin at 6:30 p.m. and feature cowboy western music and poet Wayne Nelson from American Falls and others. Bring the whole family and a side dish or dessert. Enjoy a evening full of music and poetry. No cost to get in other than a side dish.
