News Wendell Boys Take State Soccer
The Trojan Boys Soccer team took the State Championship on October 25th. Their first game of the tournament was 5 to 0 win over Bonners Ferry, followed by a hair-puller against Weiser. That game ended in a 6 to 5 victory for the Trojans (4-3 penalty kicks). Wendell scored first in the championship game when Bryant Alvarado scored against Sugar-Salem early in the first half. The rest of the game was close right to the last minute, when a couple of penalty kicks gave the Trojans a 3 to 1 victory,
Girls Soccer The Bliss girls lost their first game of the tournament against Timberlake (took 2nd place), but went on to defeat Marsh Valley in over-time (2-1). This put them in the consolation game against Community School where they ended their season with a 3-0 loss.

On Friday the Gooding Senators gave Parma a through trashing with a 64 to 13 win. Veteran’s Day November 11th
The Gooding County Museum is celebrating Veteran’s Day on Tuesday, November 11, at 6:30 p.m. with the help of the local Gooding American Legion Post 0030 and the VFW. Tami Huber and Kallie Shadwick, who attended the American Legion Auxiliary Girls State program in June, will present a short program about their experience. Tami Huber is a senior this year at Gooding High School and plans on attending college next year. She is a firm believer in the Bible and an excellent student. Along with volunteer experience and tutoring younger students, Tami has been in the Family Career Community Leaders of America, Reading club, and band & choir. Her goal is to work in the education field and Girls State gave her new perspectives about government. Kallie Shadwick has been student council president and secretary, as well as 4H secretary and part of Future Family Career Leaders of America.
