State Football Championship Games
Last Friday, the Camas Mushers took the win over North Gem 42 to 36, and the Dietrich Blue Devils took out Council 60 to 38. These two teams will off in Dietrich this Friday at 6:00 p.m. The winner will likely play Carey the following weekend. Also this Friday, November 5th, the Senators will host Timberlake in the second round of the 3A football playoffs. Christmas Tree Permits On Sale
The Holidays are fast approaching and permits for cutting Christmas trees for personal family use on the Sawtooth National Forest will be available beginning Friday, November 12, 2021, and will be valid until December 25, 2021. The cost of this year’s permit is $10. This permit will allow a family to choose and cut one tree up to 20 feet tall. There is a limit of one tree per family or organization. Forest Service offices are offering curbside pickup only. Permits will be available at the following locations throughout the Sawtooth National Forest and surrounding areas:

Farmers, Ranchers Affected By Drought Have Time To Replace Livestock and Defer Tax
Bonner, Bonneville, Boundary, Butte, Camas, Canyon, Caribou, Cassia, Clark, Clearwater, Custer, Elmore, Franklin, Fremont, Gem, Gooding, Idaho, Jefferson, Jerome, Kootenai, Latah, Lemhi, Lewis, Lincoln, Minidoka, Nez Perce, Oneida, Owyhee, Payette, Power, Shoshone, Teton, Twin Falls, Valley, and Washington. Find the complete list of applicable regions in Notice 2021-55 on IRS.gov. The relief applies to farmers affected by drought that happened between September 1, 2020, and August 31, 2021. This relief generally applies to capital gains realized by eligible farmers and ranchers on sales of livestock held for draft, dairy, or breeding purposes. Sales of other livestock — such as those raised for slaughter or held for sporting purposes — or poultry aren't eligible. Details are in Notice 2006-82 on IRS.gov.
