If you’re looking for something out of the ordinary, Tilgate Park could be the wedding venue for you. Available all year round, this rural bliss boasts more than 200 acres of natural backdrop for your big day. The Peace Garden bridge, pinetum, ancient woodlands and lakes are all there to be enjoyed and utilised in those all important photographs.

THE “I DOS” The Walled Garden lies at the heart of the park where generations of visitors have enjoyed the formally-planted gardens displaying an array of colour and fragrance. As you step inside, the aisle leads you into what feels like a secret garden, where you’ll be surrounded by shrubs and flower beds, luscious green lawns and a wooden arbour. The Wedding Garden can host 100 loved ones for your “I dos.” If weather conditions are less favourable the spacious and versatile barn is a great alternative. It can accommodate 80 seated or 100 standing. THE CELEBRATIONS A 40-metre-long pergola adorned in wisteria, roses, clematis and grape vines leads you through to the Arena, which is home to wedding breakfasts and receptions with its large marquee. Fully-lined with ivory drapes, the marquee also boasts chandeliers and hundreds of fairylights and can accommodate up to 200 guests. Outside the Arena provides ample room for entertainment such as garden games, a mobile bar or caterer.

Alternatively, The Barn can seat 80 for the wedding breakfast with a capacity of 150 standing for the evening with an additional enclosed garden. It sits alongside the Wedding Garden and maze.

PLUS... There’s also a golf course on site, while adrenaline seekers can enjoy treetop adventures and forest segways provided by Go Ape. Animal lovers can even book an experience at the Nature Centre with meerkats and goats.

Located in the pretty market town of Midhurst and dating back to 1430, this charming black and white Tudor timber-framed inn retains its heritage while providing every contemporary comfort. The original coach house and stables, now joined to the hotel, have become the magnificent Jacobean Hall with natural stone walls, heraldic banners and minstrel gallery. THE CELEBRATIONS The Jacobean Hall is home to wedding receptions and has its own bar plus double doors leading out onto the Jacobean Garden. There’s space here for 80 seated guests for the wedding breakfast and up to 100 nearest and dearest for the evening bash.

A renovated Jacobean mansion, Alexander House is a luxurious countryside retreat set in 120 acres of West Sussex countryside, just outside East Grinstead. The gorgeous grounds feature terraces, lawns and woodland with plenty of pretty spots for photographs.

THE “I DOS” The Shelley and Wakehurst Suite is located on the ground floor with direct access to a private terrace, garden and gazebo and can accommodate 90 of your nearest and dearest. With the same capacity, the private garden and gazebo can also host your “I dos,” if you prefer to be in the open air.

The Churchill Suite, located in the main building with views over the South Lawn is perfect for an intimate ceremony with 16 guests. Meanwhile, The Asquith Suite is ideal for a small ceremony with 10 guests, and boasts a fireplace, high ceilings and views over the South Lawn.

THE CELEBRATIONS The same spaces are also available for receptions. The Shelley and Wakehurst Suite can be divided with the former accommodating 90 and the latter accommodating 30. For the evening the suites can host up to 200 guests. The more intimate spaces, The Churchill and Asquith can still seat the same numbers (16 and 10 respectively).

The marble-topped bar completes the space and floor-to-ceiling windows bring in natural light along with views of the French-styled courtyard with its ornate fountain. It has a capacity of 150 day guests and 200 evening guests.

THE CELEBRATIONS These two spaces, the Latilla Campbell Suite and The Goldings Room, can also host wedding breakfasts and evening receptions. The former can seat 100 to join you for your first meal together as newlyweds, with space for 150 for a standing evening celebration. The latter can seat 28 guests. The venue can also accommodate up to 150 seated loved ones on the upper and lower terraces for an outside reception.
