Charlotte and Lee met online. “He was my tall, dark and handsome and I was small – opposites attract!” Charlotte says. Lee proposed on Christmas Eve in 2019, having already asked for her mum’s permission, something he knew was important to Charlotte. They were away for the night at the Marriott Hotel in Bexleyheath, “All the kids were there with us and it was a wonderful surprise,” Charlotte remembers.
The pair have a lot of happy memories associated with Rowhill Grange, such as it being the place where Charlotte first met Lee’s mum and aunt, and where they stayed for their first anniversary. So, it was the natural choice of wedding venue.
Read on as the bride, Charlotte, shares more about the wedding day...
As a wedding present, my work colleagues paid for a white taxi to take us from Rowhill to the church and then back again.

My mum gave me away as I’ve only ever had her as a parent, so we are an incredibly close family.

Since we met on match.com our favours were matches labelled: the perfect match. We also had M&Ms as both our surnames begin with the letter M. They had Mr and Mrs printed on them. The church service was beautiful. We know the vicar well and she even came to the reception. Everyone felt so welcome, which was especially important for our children. Our son came up, gave me a kiss and hugged us both when we said our vows. Blush pink blooms featured in the design of the table plan, place names and table names to tie the theme together.

We opted for blush pink flowers for the centrepieces and bouquets to reflect our colour palette and romantic theme.
I wore Mariah by Caroline Castigliano. My veil was cathedral length and scattered with light sparkles.

I added a sparkly belt to lend it more of a princess-feel, just like the dress I’d drawn and dreamed of as a little girl. And I wore by sister’s tiara from her wedding 12 years previous as my something borrowed.

Lee wore a tailored suit by Hugo Boss. He stood out from his groomsmen as he paired it with a white shirt as opposed to their light blue ones, and larger buttonhole. Our baby wore a navy suit too with navy bow tie.
Our DJ played songs I’d requested for our guests to keep everyone entertained on the dancefloor.

Having the kids involved so much, even in the speeches, made the day so special not to mention entertaining! My daughter dropped pasta down her white dress and my sister cleverly used a chair sash to cover the stain. My mum, sister, brother-in-law, nephew, Lee and I, plus our three children went on a familymoon to Bath. Lee and I went to Thermae Spa Bath one morning, which was lovely.
