WHAT DO YOU THINK OF IT SO FAR?
Allow us to introduce you to Bristol-based artist and illustrator Lucie Sheridan, founder of Rubbish Portraits. Born out of an idea to make portraits a bit of fun, her portable booths are available for your wedding!
The Rubbish Portrait Booth can travel and be set up at your venue, from here Lucie will create live portraits of you and your guests in just 10 minutes. They’re such a great memory, gift or wedding favour that everyone will be talking about them long after the big day.
Lucy can also create her rubbish portraits from a photo or live on Zoom and doesn’t just capture people, she draws pets too.

MADE WITH LOVE
This Christmas, Jennifer Owen owner of Wells-based floral design studio Goldfinch, will be hosting several workshops with the Arts Quarter in Cheddar. Classes include luxury wreath-, bauble- and garland-making. So pop 5th, 8th and 12th December in your diaries and head over to www.theartsquarter.com/workshops to find out more about times and costs.
Additionally, Jennifer hosts private hen-party workshops, where you can learn the art of flower crowns, living wreaths, bouquet arranging and more. She has also recently launched a new workshop in dried wreath-making, using a metal-based shape and learning how to attach dried flowers. Jennifer loves to make luna wreaths, so she’ll show you how to use the same method on a basic shape or upgrade to a luna or hexagon shape, custom-made by a metal welder.
Goldfinch favours sustainable methods of floristry and you and your bride tribe will be provided with a lovely glass of bubbly and nibbles as you arrive (there might even be a mince pie or two on offer for the Christmas workshops). All tools and equipment are provided, as well as all materials needed to produce your beautiful piece.

WEDDING WONDERLAND
For a number of years Cover With Love’s venue styling items lived in a storage unit. However, it was owner Caroline Coles’ dream to open a showroom to display them in their full glory, and in October 2020, in the midst of Covid chaos, her vision came to fruition. “Our local Enterprise Centre in Wiveliscombe built a number of storage units that became available for rent, which happened to be just five minutes from where we live. Although, the timing couldn’t have been worse, I didn’t want to miss out on the opportunity to open my very own showroom,” Caroline explains.
Lockdown gave her the time to decorate the space how she wanted, and being able to show potential couples what Cover With Love can offer and chat to them face-to-face meant the world. “Seeing items online is one thing, but being able to experience them set up is so much better,” Caroline says. Happily, this local wedding business has received nothing but positive feedback and the showroom is going from strength to strength.

A BRIDGERTON BREAK
Sitting pretty in the heart of Bath, GuestHouse’s No.15 Great Pulteney invites guests to uncover the city’s vibrant spirit with a trio of packages designed to blend the very best of hotel and heritage.
Our favourite is, of course, Basking In Bridgerton! Since No.15 is on the doorstep of where Netflix’s biggest-ever series was filmed, there’s no doubting it’s well-placed to set fans’ hearts a flutter. Lovers of the spicy costume drama will probably know that one of the show’s major stars is Bath, with the first series packed with shots of the city’s gorgeous Georgian-ness. With the hotel as your base enjoy a behind-thescenes walking tour with one of the city’s Blue Badge guides, see the homes of Lady Danbury and the Featheringtons, discover insider nuggets and the history behind featured locations. Your knowledge of the ‘ton’ will be of Whistledown standards before the day is out. So, why not grab your maid-of-honour or mother-of-the-bride for a super-special hen weekend?
