Don't Wait for Your Home Network to Fail
GET ALL YOUR DEVICES CONNECTING BETTER THAN EVER BY DEDE CATSAVIS
client called
Alast week in frustration. She couldn’t get online and therefore couldn’t get email on any device except her phone. One of the techs went to her house and discovered multiple issues. Her router was old to begin with, but it also appeared to have gotten zapped in a recent power surge, as only one of her wi-fi points was working. Additionally, she had forgotten all of her email passwords and she had several email accounts. (More and more, I think passwords just keep users out of their own devices – as the hackers seem to easily get in!) The state of the art for home wi-fi connectivity is mesh routers. They are made to blanket your home in wi-fi, extending way beyond what a single router can do by sharing that network across multiple devices. The Computer Tutors tech had several mesh routers with him, and he installed the one best suited for the size and layout of her home and one that took into account the number of devices she was using. The new router had the additional benefit of increasing her network security and speed. He reconnected all her computers, iPad, printers, TVs, security cameras and several other devices that were on her network. He then reset her email passwords and made sure she could send and receive email from all three of her accounts on all of her devices. Then, he installed a new Blu-Ray player she had ordered and helped her order a new iPad, as hers was outdated. Many other little issues were fixed along the way as well, and all of her questions were patiently answered. Although it took a few hours to complete the job, she was extremely happy, no longer frustrated and greatly relieved that everything worked! Success! Sometimes we don’t get this lucky to have everything work at first – but we always find a work-around or other ways to accomplish the goal. You don’t have to wait until your wi-fi fails to get your network and components brought up to date. You can call Computer Tutors to prevent that from happening to you.
