Newbridge Business Centre
transforms Historic Charlotte House into secure co-working hub
The sun was shining and people were enjoying the Roof Terrace refreshments as Newbridge Business Centre was unveiled at an Open House event held on June 22nd. Following a five-year renovation project, Charlotte House is now a state-of-the-art coworking space and cyber-secure digital hub.
Built in 1840, Charlotte House was once the town’s main Post Office and the birthplace of famed Crystallographer Dame Kathleen Lonsdale, the first woman elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1945.
Her pioneering spirit lives on in the meticulous renovation by Martin and Ainé Cooper, which brought a heritage building back to life as a contemporary co-working space designed to address two modernday problems:
• Workplace isolation
• The evolving cyber threat landscape.
Today, Newbridge Business Centre (NBC) is a state-of-the-art digital hub. As one of Ireland’s most cyber-secure co-working facilities it is ‘the third workspace solution’ for professionals who wish to bridge the gap between working from home and the office.

The centre offers 18 state of the art private office suites, hot desk, media room and meeting room facilities. Amenities include, kitchen, breakout area, roof terrace, bike rack and electric bike charging. Newbridge Business Centre offers 18 Secure Wi-Fi access points with customer and guest Wi-Fi access with industry-standard WPA2/ WPA3 network security. Every private suite is protected behind a corporate firewall and dedicated IP addresses are available to occupants.
Newbridge Business Centre at Charlotte House, Newbridge is now officially open. It welcomes enquiries from businesses that wish to explore a co-working space that marries 19th-century charm with cutting-edge amenities.
