When it’s cold outside, birds need food to keep warm. Now is the perfect time to attract them to your home!

-Select the Best Feeder; a sturdy comfortable perch is important for many birds, Hanging feeders are preferred by nimble birds (chickadees & goldfinches), Some birds prefer to eat insects & meat. Nylon-covered wire cages filled with suet will attract these birds.

-Select a Good Location: Place feeders where your comfortable watching them. Feeders should be placed fairly close to trees or shrubs & at least 5 ft high & 10 feet from anything a cat can use as launch pad!

-Provide Good Quality Food: Sunflower seeds are favorite food of many; A mixture containing sunflower seeds, white proso millet & cracked corn is a good economical value.

POWDER RIVER BOMBING AREA EXPANSION You may have heard about the Air Force’s proposed training area expansion to 28,000 square miles, covering southeast Montana, southwest North Dakota, northwest South Dakota, and northeast Wyoming. The military would own the airspace from 500 feet above the ground up to 18,000 feet, with many altitude, navigation, and corridor restrictions 5 days a week.

Many energy companies, corporations, hunters, small aircraft operations, etc. will not mess with these restrictions, and fly to airports outside the areas (Beach, Dickinson, Glen Ullin, Mandan, and Bismarck). We gain no growth or revenue from the military or those operating outside the areas, but will be stuck with low altitude fast moving aircraft operations (safety), flare drops (fire danger), chaff dispensing (surface water), noise, etc!!

If Ellsworth AFB wants a larger area, put it east of Rapid City. If Minot AFB wants an area, go east to the military areas already in place (Rugby to Devils Lake) , Recommendations that would greatly reduce the impact, are relocating the areas, raising the area floors from 500 feet above the ground to 8000 feet above the ground (like the Drone areas by Grand Forks and New (Rockford) or limiting the number of days the 500 feet is used??
