Welcome to the 2013 Tillamook County Fair

H50772

“GOT A GOOD THING GROWING” is really happening at the 2013 Tillamook County Fair this year. The fairgrounds have never looked better from front to back and from top to bottom. The fair board and lots of volunteers have been busy power washing, painting, planting and paving the fairgrounds for all of you to enjoy. This year is the 120th Tillamook County Fair. Don’t forget that Wednesday is “Canned Food Day” and children 15 and under get in free with two cans of food. The fair board is looking for Wednesday to be a really big day this year with the semi-finals of the local “Talent Show” contest, the gospel sing on the courtyard stage, horse racing and this year we have the world famous Pig ‘n’ Ford races also on Wednesday. Grandstand entertainment is country singer Lee Brice starting at 8 p.m. Thursday, “Pioneer Day,” is where senior citizens get in for $6. The Huckleberry Health Fair is back celebrating their 30th year at the fair. We also have Joe Stoddard as the new Master of Ceremonies on the courtyard stage along with comedy chaos, “The Marc and Dre Show” and the local “Talent Show” finals. Again, we welcome back “Brad’s World Reptiles,” 4-H and FFA members showing their animals and all the different dance groups on the courtyard stage. It’s “Derby Day” at the races on Thursday, and we look forward to everyone wearing their favorite hat to the races. Thursday night we have country music star Travis Tritt in the grandstands.

“Merchant’s Day,” is Friday of fair where they host the largest “Open Class Dairy Show” in the state. It also is the first day of the “Texaco Country Showdown” talent show. The ever so popular ice cream tasting contest is on the courtyard stage and don’t forget the carnival is going on all four days. This year “Fair Acres” is located in the tennis court area. Youth are encouraged to attend a storybook reading, drive pedal tractors through an obstacle course and they will have presentations and hands on demonstrations every hour. Puzzlemania will also be located in this area, where there are puzzles for toddlers to seniors to enjoy. Don’t forget to attend the Junior Livestock Auction Friday night at 6 p.m. in the new pavilion and come out and support our youth Then you can head straight to the grandstands to listen to classic rock band “Foghat.” Saturday is “Recognition Day” at the fair and they will recognize a person and a business for all their support and donations to the fair. they will have the championship Pig ‘n Ford races and the crowd favorite “Demolition Derby” in the grandstands. After the derby, you can enjoy a Hispanic Dance in the skating rink or you can listen to the rock band, “Audio Syndicate” near the beer gardens. As always, Saturday is the biggest day of the fair and we look forward to seeing you at the 2013 Tillamook County Fair, where they really do “got a good thing growing.” Name: RAWE BODY AND COLLISION SHOP Width: 5.1875 in Depth: 5.5 in Color: Black plus three Ad Number: H51053

Animal keepers with Brad’s Word Reptiles will bring 40 varieties of animals for zoo-quality displays in the building across from the Pioneer building in the fairgrounds courtyard. Animals from Brad’s World Reptiles have been featured in Chuck Norris movies and on the television show, “The Crocodile Hunter.” Look for such interesting critters as a four-foot American alligator, a Burmese python, parrots, live insects and others. And if you’re brave enough, many of the reptiles will be available for touching and handling. Staff members will answer questions and give presentations. FOGHAT

The group Foghat formed in 1971 as a classic rock band and have been touring the world with their music ever since. Their hits “Slow Ride” and “Drivin’ Wheel” were only a small portion of their success as their album “Fool For the City” went platinum and “Foghat Live” double platinum. After the loss of original member Lonesome Dave Peverett in 2000, the group collaborated with former Ted Nugent singer, Charlie Huhn. Since that time they have released several live albums, DVD collections, and their latest new album Last Train Home in 2010. ” Sponsored by Tillamook County Merchants
