What do the holidays mean to you?

This time of year causes us to pause and reflect on our lives. Every day we face so many challenges, but it is important to stop and think about the positive and what is really important in our lives.

To help us keep things in perspective, students from Taft Elementary, Oceanlake Elementary and Lincoln City Seventh-day Adventist schools are sharing their drawings and thoughts about what the holidays mean to them.

The thoughts of every student who participated are on these pages. Drawings were selected at random.

We owe a special thank you to the teachers and principals who work with our children every day. They are a dedicated, caring group of people.

And a special thank you to the business owners who sponsored the drawings for “Through a Child’s Eyes.” Without their support so many things would not happen in our community. Not only did these businesses make the publication possible but also a portion of each sponsorship cost will go to the schools for art supplies.
