STORMY WEATHER ARTS FESTIVAL NOVEMBER 6- 8, 2026 MICHAEL ORWICK oils

Michael Orwick is an artist of light. Inspired by the atmospheric nuance of the Pacific Northwest landscape, his oil on canvas compositions transform the viewer’s sense of place, utilizing light as a resonant force of mystery, beauty and a hint of the mystical. His art celebrates joy, curiosity, and connection.

Enjoy coffee, tea and light bites.

JOANNE SHELLAN acrylics

DragonFire Gallery First & Hemlock • Cannon Beach

Joanne Shellan uses a saturated palette of rich acrylic color to interpret both human and natural habitats. A keen observer of the constructed world, she brings a storyteller’s instinct to her interior scenes, revealing the quiet and fleeting moments of life. Her depictions of nature immerse the viewer in the deep peace of Northwest landscapes.

Bronze Coast Gallery Stormy Weather Arts Festival 2026

224 N Hemlock Suite 2 | Cannon Beach art@bronzecoastgallery.com

Bronze Coast Gallery has been in operation for over 30 years and represents more than 50 artists from the Northwest and beyond. We offer a wide variety of sculpture, from classic limited-edition bronze to innovative contemporary artwork and unique paintings. We are delighted to, once again, participate in Cannon Beach’s annual Stormy Weather Arts Festival, where our gallery will be hosting four of our remarkably talented artists.

Melissa Cooper

Melissa Cooper spent ten years working in a foundry, helping to support her sculptor father’s bronze work. This gave her an invaluable education in working in bronze from the ground up and as a result she can visualize a complex design and bring it to reality. Melissa’s widely collected wildlife art is known for the combination of graceful shape and, as the artist puts it: “fluffy and robust” charm. An impressionistic style suits the creature’s body of her work, but when it comes to the face, however, detail is key to infusing the animal with spirit and personality.

Melissa Cooper “Friendly Chat” Crystal Lockwood “Dance of the Deep” David Crawford “Lola Dog” Robert Rogers “Night Sky Cuff Bracelet”

David Crawford

Growing up living and working among cattle ranchers, art was not really the kind of thing that David Crawford took too seriously. He tried to focus his creative energy on functional objects, such that would be considered useful. David received a bachelor’s degree in art from Eastern Oregon University, and he began his early art career in Portland. Three years later he moved to Enterprise, OR where both of his sons were born. He began working in furniture then gradually began working primarily in bronze. In 1993, he and his family moved to Halfway, OR where he currently maintains his studio and foundry for casting his works.

Crystal Lockwood

Festival Outline Friday November 6 10am-6pm Saturday November 7 10am-7pm with the Artist Reception 5-7pm Sunday November 8 10am-4pm 224 N Hemlock Suite 2 • Cannon Beach • Oregon bronzecoastgallery.com 4 | 2026 Stormy Weather Arts Festival Cannon Beach, Oregon

Based in Washington State, Crystal Lockwood began sculpting at the young age of 17 under the apprentice of Sigmund de Tonancour. For the past 36 years, she has won numerous awards in exhibits on the West Coast and in Hawaii. Crystal is well known for her ethereal, metamorphic sculptures of the human figure created from found driftwood. She personally selects each piece of wood for its natural energy and flow, incorporating the human form into the driftwood. Crystal has also expanded her practice to include stone and bronze sculpture.

Robert Rogers

Robert Rogers is inspired by many cultures and historic lore; greatly influenced by his many visits to the great art meccas of Europe. For more than 40 years, Robert has designed and created fine jewelry as an art and expression of love for the craft. His highly detailed work reflects his skills, not only as a jeweler, but also as a master wax carver. Robert’s forms of art are layered by the actual creation of the piece and his descriptive storyline that develops with the feeling and passion of each piece as it is being created. H289786

Our weekend events include a gallery demonstration by featured artists Valerie Savarie who uses altered books as the centerpiece of her creations. Watch Valerie transform vintage books through cutting, carving and stitching them into one-of-a-kind wall sculptures that tell her own unique stories - or sign up to participate in Valerie’s Sunday workshop at the Cannon Beach History Center.
