Where does CC Rider go from here? Scappoose Columbia County Rider is looking for a way to move forward with their goal of making public transportation available to as many people in the county as possible. The transit agency faces no shortage of challenges, but with a new contractor on the horizon, and with a consolidation up for consideration, CC Rider might continue to grow its reach. Deep budget cuts in past years, aging buses, staff turnover, issues with customer

service, mismanagement and other problems led CC Rider to their recent connection with MTR Western, a former charter bus company that became a northwest-focused commuter transit operation with clients such as Boeing. With a failed levy on the recent primary ballot, CC Rider needs a solution to continue operating. CC Rider primarily operates on grants; the ridership is not large enough to support it. Transit Director Janet Wright said that is
