Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture invites the community to enjoy the first late night opening of area businesses. Mark your calendars for Friday, Nov. 29 and to shop ‘til you drop downtown Baker. Stores will be open until 7 p.m. that evening. Saturday, Nov. 30 is the annual Small Business Saturday. This day is set aside to celebrate our wonderful local businesses that support our economy, and our community. Be sure to take time to shop local. Wednesday, Dec. 11, is the night of all nights! Join the Baker businesses for the Christmas Stroll, stores open until 7 p.m., also Santa will be stopping by the Baker Fire Station from 4-6 p.m. With a can of food or small donation to the
Make a Wish Competition The BHS Student Council is proud and excited to announce that they tied for first place in the Make a Wish Competition for the 2019 State Student Council Convention. Baker, along with Poplar and Chinook, each donated $2,000 to the Make a Wish Foundation. A total of $1,189.33 was raised by the students grades 7-12 and the staff from Baker; the BHS Student Council added enough money raised from their various events to make it an even $2,000. Together, all the schools in Montana raised $14,430.14, which is enough to help fund at least two Make A Wish requests. Zach Craig is pictured proudly holding the plaque that announces Baker School’s outstanding contribution. This is just one more example of the truly giving and compassionate nature that is so common in the Baker community.
Also in Student Council news, Zach Craig, President of District VI Student Council, and Student Council Advisor Carole Bettenhausen are excited to announce that Baker will be the site of the 2020 District VI Spring Convention. While a date has not yet been set for this exciting convention, plans are already in progress to bring in a motivational speaker, provide motivational and fun workshops, serve lunch and welcome students and advisors from the area to our school. The 2020 National Convention for Student Council will be held June 22-24 in Denver, CO. Baker High School students who are interested in going should clear their calendars and start planning for a fun, motivational, and awesome learning experience. Stay tuned for more updates!

The most wonderful time of the year is here, and Baker is welcoming it with the Country Christmas Countdown. On Saturday, Nov. 23 festivities will start off at the McClain Park at 5:30 p.m. with the Lighting of the Holiday lights. Local businesses, organizations, and individuals are asked to adopt a tree to decorate before this day. If there is a certain tree you have your eye on, feel free to tie a ribbon to that tree with your name and it will be reserved for you to decorate. Along with the tree decorations, the city is also asking for volunteers to help decorate the park. The lighting itself will be at 7 p.m., but in the meantime there will be plenty of Holiday Cheer to enjoy. This event will feature the music stylings of the Community Choir, games brought to you by 4-H, and hot dogs, chips, roasted chestnuts, hot chocolate, and coffee will be served courtesy of the Boy Scouts. Along with that there will be wagon rides to enjoy, a photo booth, and a drop box to drop off Santa letters. You may even see some of Santa’s little elves running around collecting Santa letters for him as well! The Christmas Countdown does not end there. The Baker

Friends of FMC Foundation will hold its 10th Annual “Festival of Trees” starting Monday, Nov. 25 at Thee Garage Showroom in Baker at 5 p.m. If you, your business, group or organization would like to donate a decorated tree, wreath or anything that is Christmas related, please call Karol at 406-778-5448 or drop the items off at Thee Garage. The event will run through Wednesday, Dec. 11, when items will be awarded to the highest bidder at 6 p.m. In addition to the silent auction, Friends of FMC will be holding a Free Will Chili Supper for the public from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11 at Thee Garage Showroom during the Baker Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture Christmas Stroll. Chris Heiser SGT/E5 returned to Montana from Iraq Oct. 31 after being gone for almost a year with the Montana National Guard’s 143rd Military Police Detachment. . .Badlands Electric is the newly created partnership of two experienced electricians, Josh Breitbach and Rob Kono. They will do industrial, commercial, residential and agricultural electric work, along with trenching and backhoe work. . .Baker Spartan football team played Huntley Project for their second game of the playoff season and were defeated 6-45. . .Lady Spartan volleyball team placed third at the divisional tournament and earned a trip to the state volleyball tournament in Bozeman Nov. 12-14. . .Jim Schillinger, a 1968 graduate of Circle High School and retired teacher and assistant football coach at Baker High School, was inducted into the Grizzly Sports Hall of Fame Oct. 16 in Missoula.

Bob Hunt will repair appliances and will also have some used appliances for sale at his place of business. . .After a three year wait, Ralph Koenig received the kidney and pancreas he has needed to enable him to lead a normal life. He’s making a good recovery - his new kidney is functioning and the pancreas is putting out insulin. . .Fallon Creek CowBelles, Reynolds Supermarket and beef checkoff dollars sponsored a “Taste the Beef” cooking school Nov. 6 at the Plevna Fire Hall. Over 40 area residents attended the school. . .Ray Holman will celebrate his 94th birthday Nov. 16; Anna Schopp will celebrate her 90th birthday Nov. 18. . .Clyde and Rose Crawford
will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Nov. 20. . .Baker Spartan football team soundly defeated the Columbus Cougars 35-0. The Spartans will now host Missoula Loyola in the semi-finals. . .In appreciation for the efforts of firefighters from three states, the town of Ekalaka played host to a “thank you” supper Monday night. Townsfolk invited anyone who helped fight the Halloween fire or who hosted evacuated families to enjoy a meal. Over 400 people were served.

At the November meeting of the school board, Brenda Hansen was acknowledged for her excellence in teaching science. Rich Menger, BHS science teacher, presented her with a plaque. . .Julie Woolston opened “Julie’s Flowers and Gifts”. November 1 was her first day of business. . .Lillian Anderson, Adeline Bertsch, Alice Carlisle, William Ehret, Bertha Karch, Neil O’Connor, Betty Pool and Mabel White are all employed in Fallon and Carter Counties thanks to a national program called Green Thumb. . .Baker Lady Spartans earned the first place trophy at the district basketball tournament last weekend. The girls take their impressive 21-0 record on to the divisional tournament in Billings this weekend. . .Marge Russell has been re-appointed American Heart Association’s volunteer memorial chairman in Fallon County. . .Plevna Lady Cougars captured third place in their district basketball tournament. The ladies will travel to Billings next weekend for their divisional tourney. . .Lotto America arrived in Montana Nov. 9. Miss Linda Meyer, their sponsor, accompanied them. . .Annual Thanksgiving dinner for Fallon County senior citizens will be held Nov. 18 at the American Legion Hall. The Jaycees and Jayceens are sponsoring the dinner. BHS music department will provide entertainment.

The Fulton Ranch, consisting of approximately 60 sections of land, located in Fallon and Custer Counties, has been sold to Ed Love of Snyder, TX, according to Miles City and E. E. Wallace of Weldon Birdwell, real estate agent who handled the sale. . .Earnie Herbst and Willard Malcom were re-elected as directors at the annual stockholders meeting of Farmers Union Oil Co. . .Over 2,000 meals were served at the Fall Festival which was inaugurated Nov. 7.

Baker has its corner grocery. It is on First Street West and the owners are Mike and Margaret Schwagel, formerly of Golva. They will be open for business next Tuesday and will live in an apartment at the rear of the store. . .Baker Lions Club presented their annual minstrel show this week at the Lake Theatre. . .The General Assoc., of Regular Baptists will hold a conference in the First Baptist Church in Baker this week. . .Junior Red Cross enrollment is almost 100 percent in Fallon County schools, reports Mrs. Lucille Riley, superintendent. . .A fire of unknown origin broke out in a brooder house belonging to Howard Stanhope. Before help could be summoned, the entire building and chickens housed within were burned.

A large and appreciative crowd turned out Friday night for the annual faculty play given at the Baker high school. W. L. Riddle, county superintendent coached the play. . .John Rambur, Arnold Koenig and Glen Householder were recent enrollees at the NYA training camp at Fort Keogh . . .Bids were let for grading, surfacing and construction of drainage structures on about 9% miles of road between Baker and Ekalaka, starting at the county line. . .Thanksgiving menu at the Tally Ho Inn includes turkey with all of the trimmings, 75¢, fried chicken or ham, 65¢ or roast beef, 50¢.

Playing their final game, the local eleven trounced Ekalaka by a score of 256, Nov. 11, before the largest crowd of the season. . .George Grainger, proprietor of the Commercial Cafe and who recently purchased the Pearce-Morse building, will take possession within ten days. . .Five 4-H members of Fallon County have been selected to attend the National Boys and Girls Congress to be held in Chicago the first week in December. Winners of the trip are Theocula Himsl, Plevna; Annetta Sipma, Knobs; Evelyn Bowen, Ollie; Leon Rieger, Westmore; and Arthur Martin of Carlyle.

OBITUARIES
James (Jim) Robert O’Donnell, 74
James (Jim) Robert O’Donnell, age 74, passed away peacefully, after a long battle with chronic pain and health complications. He passed surrounded by his family, at St. Vincent Healthcare in Billings, MT on Nov. 2, 2019. Jim was born in Baker, MT June 6, 1945. He was the first child of Robert and Erna (Koenig) O’Donnell. Jim spent his early childhood helping his father and attended the local country school. Later, the family moved closer to town, and Jim and his siblings attended and completed public school. In his high school years, Jim worked at the local Baker Creamery, where he regularly taste-tested the ice cream. He would later tell his grandchildren that he started working at 14 years old. Jim earned the title of Prom King, in 1964. He credited his win to his good looks and school smarts. After graduating in 1964, Jim left for Albert Lee, MN to pursue an education at the Vocational School of Drafting. In 1966, Jim was drafted into the Army. After his training at Fort Sill, OK, he served in Vietnam. Upon return, Jim decided to continue his education at Dawson Community College in Glendive, MT. He studied Civil Tech Engineering and Surveying. During the weekdays, Jim studied hard, and worked at a local bowling alley setting up bowling pins. On the weekends Jim would go out with his friends. On the dance floor, he met the love of his life, Jane. Jim and Jane were married on Aug. 22, 1970. Jim was offered a position with the Soil Conservation Service in Broadus, MT. They lived in Broadus for nine years and were blessed with two daughters: Jamie and Janelle. The family relocated to Miles City, MT in 1980. A few years later they were blessed with their third daughter, Allison.
Jim worked for the Natural Resource Conservation Service. He was passionate about his job. It combined his favorite elements: the open outdoors and helping others. He enjoyed the day to day challenges of his assignments. Some of his assignments took him to different areas where he used different skill sets. He met many friends during his career. Jim retired after thirty-five years of service with the NRCS. Before he retired from his career, he was in a bicycle accident. The accident left him with chronic pain for the next seventeen years and forced his hand at early retirement. Even in retirement one of his last projects was helping to design and manage a Fish-Bypass at 12 Mile Dam. Jim enjoyed the outdoors where he spent time hunting and fishing. Both Jim and Jane went on many trips, with friends, to Jan Lake, Canada. He refinished many antiques and liked woodworking. He refinished the Sacred Heart gymnasium floor, which can be found in his man cave. When he wasn’t spending time with friends, family or his grandchildren, you would find him reading many books, magazines and local newspapers. Often, Jim was the first to suggest playing cards on holidays and gatherings. He volunteered his time and enjoyed working with the Knights of Columbus Jim is survived by his wife Jane, of forty-nine years, daughter Jamie Treu (Dean and children Kail, Rylee and Lauren) of Miles City, MT; daughter Allison Stabio (Matt) of Dayton, OH; brother Raymond O’Donnell (Mary Ann and children Carrie and Kelly) of Glendive, MT; Karen O’Donnell-Davis of Dayton, MT; Susan Cox (Doug and daughter Danae) of Baker, MT. Jim is preceded in death by his father and mother, Robert and Erna O’Donnell, daughter Janelle O’Donnell, brother-in-law Lou Davis, nephew Robby Cox, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral Mass was Nov. 7, 2019. Burial with Military Honors was held after the Funeral Mass.
Alvin Madler, 72
Funeral mass for Alvin Madler, 72, of Baker, MT, was held on Nov. 12, 2019 at St. John Catholic Church, Baker, with Father Philip Chinnappan celebrating. Burial followed at St. John Cemetery. Alvin passed away Nov. 6, 2019 at Fallon Medical Complex in Baker surrounded by family. Alvin Joseph Madler was born Oct. 10, 1947 in Baker, MT, the fifth of seven children to Jose and Olga (Tronstad) Madler. He grew up on a farm five miles north of Baker, attending O’Donnell school through the 7th grade and completed his schooling in Baker, graduating in 1965. After graduation, he worked on the family farm until volunteering for the draft in 1967. He served in the US Army from 1967 to 1970, including two tours in Vietnam where he earned a Bronze Star. After being honorably discharged, he returned to Baker. Alvin married Patricia Schoenbeck on May 12, 1969 at St. John Catholic Church in Baker. Through this union four children were born: Jodi, Jason, Justin and Josh. They also hosted two exchange students, Juan Molina from Columbia and Naomi (Twyman) James from Australia. Together, they raised their family in Baker. Alvin began working for MDU as a service man and worked there for 40 years. After his retirement from MDU, he started

his own business, Madler Furnace & Appliance Repair. Alvin always enjoyed helping others and continued to run his business until he became ill. Alvin loved spending his time flying RC airplanes and playing music at dances around the area, the Fallon county nursing home and Superior Care Villa. He also enjoyed woodworking and telling bad jokes. Alvin was a member of Baker American Legion and Knights of Columbus. He was involved as a Boy Scout leader and also with Habitat for Humanity and was a lifelong member of St. John Catholic Church, where he was baptized and confirmed. Alvin loved spending time with his family and especially looked forward to family vacations. On Sunday, Nov. 10 the American Legion Auxiliary celebrated its 100th birthday. The American Auxiliary generally hosts a dinner every year for Veteran’s Day. This year since the 100th birthday fell the day before Veteran’s Day, they had a dinner to honor our veterans in conjunction with a birthday party. The celebration began in Baker’s American Legion at 4 p.m. as folks trudged in from the inclement weather to enjoy one another’s company over a dinner of pulled pork, scalloped potatoes, various salads and birthday cake! Initially the feast was only supposed to run until 6 p.m., but with only about 40 people braving the snow and making it down to the Legion, they kept it open later so more people were able to enjoy the meal.

Veterans Day Veterans Honor Program Day

Presentation of the Colors, (l-r): Bret Edgell, Veteran Lamar Wagnon and Trinity Rieger. By Chloe Tudor Mrs. Wagnon’s Veterans Day Honor Program was held on Nov. 11 in the Plevna School Gymnasium. Mrs. Spenser’s 5th grade class greeted guests as they arrived handing out programs. Mr. Schumacher opened the program with a welcome, thanking all of the Veterans for serving our great country. Following this was a presentation of colors, presented by FFA members Trinity Rieger and Bret Edgell accompanied by Veteran Lamar Wagnon. Next, Mrs. Bidwell’s kindergarten class recited the poem Veterans Day by Cheryl Dyson, after which they led the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance. The Concert Band followed the pledge with the Star Spangled Banner. Mrs. Downing’s 1st grade class explained the history of the this national anthem written by Francis Scott Key. Soon after the concert band played Fanfare for the Common Man, to honor the common people who served our country as soldiers and returned as heroes in our eyes. Mrs. Oberlander’s 2nd grade class presented Navy Uniforms throughout history. They displayed Service Dress Uniforms, Dinner Dress Uniforms and Work Uniforms. Mrs. Oberlander wore her father’s uniform to honor his part in the Navy. The Cougar Cadet Choir sang We Honor You in perfect harmony. Mrs. Benner’s 3rd grade demonstrated the proper way to fold the American Flag. Addy Fadness and Wiley Thielen folded the flag as the other 3rd grade students told what each fold represented. The 4th grade class had a reenactment of the Iwo Jima Flag raising during
Veterans Day, also known as Armistice Day, is celebrated on Nov. 11 each year. This year is the 101st Anniversary of the signing of the Armistice on Nov. 11, 1918, which marked the end of WWI. The Armistice officially came into effect on the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month, Eastern Time, 1918. A few of the terms of the Armistice included immediate withdrawal of German forces to the Eastern side of the Rhine; all minefields on land and sea were to be identified. There was no destruction or removal of civilian goods or inhabitants; the infrastructure was to remain intact; there would be immediate release of all Allied prisoners; and the turnover of German military equipment. This Armistice was kept in effect and prolonged three times until the Treaty of Versailles took effect on January 10th, 1920. Since WWI, the United States has been involved in WWII, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and Wars in Afghanistan, Grenada, Iran, and Iraq. After WWII, the Veterans of both WWI and WWII knew Armistice Day as a day of recognition. In 1954, the United States designated November 11 as Veteran’s Day, a day to recognize all veterans. The Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers, a monument in Arlington National Cemetery, Washington, DC, honors the fallen soldiers who have not been identified.

This year’s Fire Prevention Week theme was “Not all Heroes Wear Capes.” The Plevna Fire Department Chief Kalyn Bohle came to discuss fire safety. He said, “Being a Fire Chief is like coaching a basketball team. He has to keep track of what all the other firefighters are doing and make sure they are safe.” They discussed escape plans for their homes. When fire alarms go off, stay low! If you cannot leave the room, put a towel under your door and
stay there. The presentation also included information about grass fires. The elementary students learned that you could not out drive these fires. During one dry year, they responded to grass fires 13 days in a row! Thankfully, this year there were only two grass fires. Chief Bohle showed them how the heat sensor works when it is too dark or too smoky to see people in danger. He finished his presentation by providing the Elementary students with Junior Firefighter t-shirts from the Plevna Fire Department.

On Nov. 8 the Plevna Girls’ traveled to Terry. The elementary girls’ team scored 2 points to Terry’s 41. The junior high scored 24 to Terry’s 31. On Nov. 9 a home game was played against Broadus, Plevna’s elementary girls’ team scored 2 points to Broadus’s 18. The junior high girls scored 22 to Broadus’s 40.

They identified and gave some background on thelag raisers who are a part of the Iwo Jima U.S. Marine Corp Memorial: Corporal Harlon Block, Private First Class Rene Gagnon, Private First Class Ira Hayes, Private First Class Harold Schultz, Private First Class Franklin Sousley, and Sergeant Michael Strank. The Concert Choir followed this with the beautiful song Let Freedom Ring. Pastor Josh then shared a prayer for peace; Mr. Schumacher followed the prayer with a history on Armistice Day later to be known as Veterans Day by Dwight D. Eisenhower. Concluding the program, Mr. Schumacher thanked our Veterans for fighting and giving us the freedoms we now hold dear in our great country, the United States of America.
Throughout the week of Halloween, Mrs. Phelps set up seven different Halloween themed obstacle course stations for her PE Classes. The first station was Ring the Doorbell. In this station the students had to make a basket in a mini hoop with bells attached to it. The second station was Hurdle the Headstone, students hurdled jump boxes with RIP on them. The third stations was Booling, a game of bowling where the pins looked like ghosts. The fourth station was Ring Toss,

where students played ring toss with a witch’s hat. The fifth station was Keep the Ghosts Up, where the students were challenged to keep balloons in the air as long as possible. The sixth station was Roll Around the Pumpkin Patch, where the students rode a scooter through pumpkins. The final station was Haunted House. The students rode their scooters through a maze built on the stage. Overall, the students enjoyed
the different Halloween challenges and themes.
On Nov. 8 the Plevna boys’ team played in Terry. The elementary team scored 15 points against Terry’s 25. The junior high boys’ team scored 32 points to Terry’s 44. A home game was played Nov. 9 against Broadus. Plevna’s elementary boys team made 12 points to Broadus’s 18, while the junior high boys put up 16 points to Broadus’s 57.

Lady Spartans place fourth in Divisional Volleyball Tourney By Halle Burdick and Caleb Ploeger
After placing second at the District Volleyball tournament held in Colstrip, Baker’s Lady Spartans earned a trip to the Divisional tournament which took place in Columbus this past weekend. Nine teams from the 3, 4 and 5 B conferences competed for a chance to take a trip to the state tournament in Bozeman which is being held this coming weekend. The Spartans represented Baker well, ending with a fourth place finish, just shy of earning that trip to state. The team needed to place in the top three to earn this honor. In the first round of play, Baker faced a tough Huntley Project team, the number one seeded team in the 5B conference. Huntley is a top contender for the state title and the Spartans were unable to even come close to taking down them down as Huntley Project makes very few mistakes. The Spartans lost in three sets (3-25) (925) (13-25). Katie Wang led in serving and blocking with 1 ace and 2 blocks and had 2 kills. Shelby Moore and Sady Harbaugh led in hitting with 4 kills each. Sady also had 1 block and 5 digs. Shelby had 6 digs. Macee Hadley led in setting with 12 assists and had 1 kill, 1 block and 3 digs. Halle Burdick led defensively with 12 digs. Macy Varner had 1 dig, and Mya Hadley had 1 kill and 1 dig. Peyton Janeway had 1 kill and 5 digs. This put the Spartans to play Friday morning in a match up against their rival the Forsyth Dogies. The Spartans lost to the Dogies twice in regular conference play, but weren’t about to give up and not only defeated them at the district tournament, but beat them once again to knock them out of the divisional tournament. The Spartans defeated them in four sets (26-24) (15-25)
(25-18) (25-23). Katie Wang and Peyton Janeway led in serving with 3 kills each. Katie also led in hitting and blocking with 10 kills and 5 blocks and picked up 4 digs. Peyton had 6 kills, 2 blocks, 1 assist, and 10 digs. Macee Hadley led in setting with 25 assists and had 1 ace, 6 kills, 1 block, and 8 digs. Halle Burdick led defensively with 20 digs, had 1 ace and 1 assist. Emily Shumaker had 1 kill and 1 block and Macy Varner had 4 digs. Mya Hadley had 3 kills, 1 assist, and 1 dig. Sady Harbaugh had 2 aces and 6 kills. Shelby Moore had 1 ace, 7 kills, and 9 digs. The next step for the Lady Spartans was to accomplish something they hadn’t done all season and that was to beat the Colstrip Fillies. In a loser-out match, the Spartans proved they were a force to be reckoned with and defeated the Fillies in three sets (25-16) (25-21) (25-23). Shelby Moore led in serving with 3 aces and had 2 kills and 14 digs. Katie Wang led in hitting with Peyton Janeway, each having 6 kills. Katie also led in blocking with 5 blocks and had 1 ace, 1 assist, and 5 digs. Peyton had 1 ace, 3 blocks and 15 digs. Macee Hadley led in setting with 14 assists and had 1 ace, 5 kills, 1 block, and 9 digs. Halle Burdick led defensively with 23 digs and had 2 aces. Macy Varner had 2 digs. Mya Hadley had 2 kills and 3 blocks. Sady Harbaugh had 1 ace, 2 kills, and 2 digs. After sending the Fillies on their way, the Lady Spartans faced a match up against the Townsend Bulldog for a chance for the Spartans to earn their way to a state appearance. Following the loss of the first two sets (14-25) (18-25), the Spartans recovered and came back to win the third set (25-18), but unfortunately the Spartans fell short in the fourth set (23-25), and were not able to hold off the Bulldogs. Tamale Tuesday Move over Taco Tuesday and make room for Tamale Tuesday! Mrs. Bettenhausen’s Spanish I, II, III and IV classes were the recipients of a special treat when Sam Griffith and her parents, Lisa and Todd, decided to make chicken tamales to help in the celebration of the Day of the Dead. Sam stated, “My family makes tamales a lot so we thought it would be Garrett Lesh cool to bring in some for my classmates to try. We have a lot of fun making them, generally we make a couple hundred at a time. We freeze a bunch of them and give a lot to family.” Along with delicious tamales, the students also sampled churros, flan, chocolate brownies and sugar cookies. Ashlyn Lutts and her mom made churros, but unfortunately broke her mom’s star tip in the process. Ashlyn said, “I enjoyed making these with my mom, licking my fingers after I tossed the churros with cinnamon and sugar was great. This was the first time I had made them and I had never before even eaten them. I would definitely make them again. Anika Ploeger made a tasty treat of chocolate brownies, in honor of the Aztecs who revered chocolate as the “food of the gods”. Faith Hansen and her mom made flan. Faith said, “My mom has made it before. We made two batches, the first batch didn’t turn out perfect, so my mom and step-dad ate that.” Macy Varner and Teja Dietz both brought in cookies, which were much appreciated! All the students agreed that it was a “muy delicioso almuerzo” and they are very appreciative of their classmates (and their parents!) hard work. Buen provecho y muchas gracias!

Conditional Use Permits are by the City Code taken before an appointed citizen board of adjustment for public hearing. However, the Baker City Council specifically retained that role unto themselves under 17.24.010 - Recreational Vehicle Parks Approval Process. Any new recreational vehicle park or an expansion of an existing recreational vehicle park shall require conditional use approval by the city council. A request for conditional use shall not be considered by the City of Baker until the applicant has submitted documentation that the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has approved the plans and specifications for any new or expanded recreational vehicle park. A DPHHS “trailer court” license for a recreational vehicle park shall only include recreational vehicles in the license. Existing recreational vehicle parks will be required to comply with the updated zoning regulations within five years of city adoption or the sale of the park or change of ownership, whichever occurs first. An owner may file for an extension for up to two additional years to operate “as is.” 17.46.020. - Powers.
