New staff joins Bowman County School District

he local Bowman Development Corporation gathered with other development corporations from the surrounding region for the Main Street Initiative Regional Convening in Adams County last week. At the Hettinger Research Extension Center, community leaders and representatives from Mandan, Mott, Bowman, Dickinson, and Hettinger shared their challenges, successes, and innovative solutions with the hopes of collecting new ideas for success from other communities. “Convenings like this provide a great chance to get together with similar communi-

t wasn’t just the kids excited for their first day of school this week. A whole legion of new faculty is joining Bowman County School District’s ranks this year. Just this year the school has added eleven new faculty members.

The high school, elementary, and support areas of the school are all benefitting from the new help. Many of the incoming staff are from all over the state with varying degrees of teaching experience. Elementary Principal Mitch Strand said that it’s always great when the school and community can attract new people: with new staff comes

new energy. “We learn from our peers,” said Strand. “Anytime we get a teacher that is new from college or another school district, along with them they bring their past experiences and new ideas.” Specifically, four new teachers

Library celebrates first day back to school

xcitement was in the air this week as kids in Bowman attended first day of school after a long summer break. After a full day of getting acquainted with new friends and teachers, kids had the opportunity to unwind from their exhausting day at the Bowman Regional Public Library with an icecold root beer float.
