Pioneer Editor bmartin@countrymedia.net A Dickinson man was seriously injured after being run over by a vehicle during an event last weekend in Bowman. The man, 63, suffered multiple injuries and was airlifted to Sanford Health in Bismarck, according to Bowman Police Chief Chuck Headley. Headley said the man, whose name was not released, was in attendance at C B Auction’s Annual Spring Consignment Auction on May 16 at the Bowman County Fairgrounds when a pick-up truck knocked him down and its front right tire crossed his back. An emergency call was placed around 2:30 p.m., according to Headley. Bowman Ambulance responded, in addition to Bowman Police Officer Larry Fischer and an officer with the North Dakota Highway Patrol.¬ Leo Heinrich of Bowman drove the vehicle as it ran over the man. “(The man was) walking to the next piece of equipment. (Heinrich) was driving up to the next piece of equipment,” Headley explained. “(Heinrich) knocked the individual down and his right front tire went over his back.” No charges will be filed against Heinrich as Headley said the incident was unintentional. Headley said he did not believe there was any negligence on Heinrich’s behalf; it was purely “an accident,” as he explained. Heinrich’s vehicle traveled at a low speed and there was no indication of reckless driving, according to Headley. Headley said he believed the man suffered from some fractured or broken vertebrae and a broken pelvis.

Court dismisses felony charge for Wickstrom, Storer By Bryce Martin
Pioneer Editor bmartin@countrymedia.net A felony charge that two Bowman residents faced was dismissed last week during a preliminary hearing in Southwest Judicial District Court. Mitchell Storer, 23, and Codee Wickstrom, 23, separately appeared May 14 before Judge Zane Anderson for a hearing to determine if the state had enough evidence for the cases to proceed to trial. The charges resulted from a February search of Storer’s Bowman residence where law enforcement discovered drugs and drug paraphernalia.
