Thanksgiving for Kids Thanksgiving is that holiday that we have in October which is right before Halloween and all the decorations, costumes and candy and also right after that is when we start thinking about Christmas shopping. Sometimes what Thanksgiving is about gets lost in the mix.

a new family tradition with a thankful tree, (a shoe box, a flower pot, or any item that works) where you all write down what you are thankful for this year, and add to this throughout the year. When you sit at your Thanksgiving table next year you can share with each other all that you were thankful Thanksgiving can be a time for us to show for during the past year. This teaches your kids about love and thankfulness daily. In our kids all that we are thankful for and to help them understand that as we go through 2000, a survey was conducted of kids in the US, and the things that they were most life there may be struggles, but you are always thankful for your home, your friends, thankful for were family, friends, pets, your family, your kids. Even when there are school/teachers. Surprisingly it was not the days that your kids may be squabbling with big screen TV or the Xbox, or big name items. It was about love as all of those they each other, you are still thankful and you need to let them know and also teach them chose represent caring and emotions. to express what they are thankful for openly every day. This year, think about how to show your kids, your grandkids, and your family and friends that thanksgiving is not about the big turkey dinner but about the meaningful people in your life who matter the most to you. Maybe consider asking someone “new” to join you this year and add a “new” person each year to your table and watch your extended family grow not only in numbers but in a loving and caring way. Consider all your family volunteering to serve Thanksgiving Dinner for those in need as a way to give thanks to your community and to express your joy for all the good things in your life. Maybe start

As you prepare for Thanksgiving ask yourself how this year can be more special and meaningful to your kids in showing them the true meaning of being thankful and in showing them how to share their thanks with others and for others. Studies show that when we express our thanks regularly, we have a happier disposition, less depression, higher vitality, more optimism, more engagement in life and an inner glow that shines through in how we look. Happy Thanksgiving to all our Country Grocer Family!

Monday, October 14th is a Statutory Holiday
