The Year In Music: 2020

For the second consecutive year, Luke Combs is the most-heard artist at Country radio, followed by Thomas Rhett, Blake Shelton, Sam Hunt and Morgan Wallen. Those top five overall performers are also the top five in the Male category. Topping the Female category is Maren Morris, who lands at No. 8 overall. Old Dominion are the top Duo/Group, landing at No. 14 overall, with Gabby Barrett as this year’s most-heard New Artist at No. 13 overall. Big Loud’s Wallen has the most-heard song of 2020 with “Chasin’ You,” and the top 10 are listed on page 9.

ACM Lifting Lives Doubles Down

“I’ve always loved being my own boss and being in control of my destiny to a certain extent. And I’ve always felt that if I continued to work hard and love the job, no one could take this touring gig away from me. I was sadly mistaken.” Those words could have been uttered by any number of country music professionals, and they’re indicative of motivations behind last week’s Giving Tuesday (12/1) re-opening of ACM Lifting Lives’ COVID-19 Response Fund. In this case, they were said by singer/ songwriter Jesse Terry, who proposed to his wife Jess at Nashville’s Bluebird Café Jesse Terry in 2010 before the couple began touring
