L-evating Chicago: Melissa & Austin What do you get when you combine a local AC morning vet and a witty multi-media Sports personality? Now more than a month into the Melissa And Austin show, the pair tell Country Aircheck about their backgrounds, how they came together in secret and what their long-term goals are. Spoiler alert: They’re coming for those broadcast award trophies. McGurren and Huff were cautiously optimistic after their first virtual meeting during the interview and hiring process. “When we had good chemistry on the Zoom meeting, it told me we were going to hit it off and that this could really develop and skyrocket once we got in the same room together,” says Huff. McGurren may have been a bit more hesitant, as she admits to “finding his Instagram and watching all his videos” before Austin Huff and the formal introduction. “Once Melissa McGurren we met, what I liked most about him was that he is very down to earth and real, and we get each other’s sense of humor,” she says.
