Power Gold Holds

After a near-record breaking Country Aircheck Power Gold Top 100 last August (CAW 9/7/21) – of which nearly a quarter were new entries – the first list for 2022 swings in the opposite direction with only three new entries and relatively stable rankings across the board. Of the 24 new entries on the previous edition, all but three remain, indicating a high degree of staying power. Morgan Wallen’s “Whiskey Glasses” debuted in the top spot in the last survey and remains firmly in place. Seven other titles deMorgan Wallen buted within the top 20 last August, and six of them repeat with top 20 finishes. Of the three debuts on this list, Dan + Shay account for two: “All To Myself” at No. 55 and “Speechless” at No. 90. The only other debut belongs to Justin Moore’s “The Ones That Didn’t Make It Back Home,” which enters at No. 83. The Winter 2022 Power Gold Top 100 is compiled from Mediabase 24/7 and music airplay information from the Country Aircheck/Mediabase reporting panel for the week of January 23-29, 2022. Here’s the Top 10: 1. Morgan Wallen/Whiskey Glasses 2. Sam Hunt/Body Like A Back Road 3. Darius Rucker/Wagon Wheel 4. Florida Georgia Line/Cruise 5. Blake Shelton/Honey Bee 6. Kenny Chesney/Get Along 7. Luke Combs/She Got The Best Of Me 8. Jason Aldean/Girl Like You 9. Brantley Gilbert/Bottoms Up 10. Eli Young Band/Love Ain’t

CRS Print Issue Preview

Industry pros from various corners of the business weigh in on the new normal – whatever that means – in the February print issue of Country Aircheck, out this week. For Big Machine’s Brooke Diaz, travel is more complex. “Do I have my vaccination card, masks and at-home testing kits so I can take one before I travel just to double-check I’m keeping my partners safe?” she asks. “I now have to check in with how my radio partners and artists are feeling, not only physically, but in regard to any new rules or regulations – which vary from state to state, artist to artist and tour to tour.” WIRK/West Palm Beach’s Bruce Logan notes, “Everyone who coughs in the office is now immediately accused of having COVID, and I accept the fact that when record friends call me, they are doing so from some vacation
