Get To Know...
A bit about Maciey Gwizdala aka Magic...
Magic has been working for Countrystyle Recycling for over 8 years, he started as a cleaner and quickly, after only 3 weeks progressed to a refuel driver and is now working as a Machine Operator, driving 360 diggers, shovel loaders, and tractors. He follows in this father’s footsteps André, who has worked at Countrystyle for over 17 years and is a yard operative.

Where would you like to time travel to?
There’s no time like the present. Now is a good time for me.
What can’t you live without?
I better make sure I get these in the right order! My Girlfriend Kamila, her cat Lillianna, DC and Marvel comics, and Netflix!!
What building would you like to be locked in overnight?
I would rather be in a tent high up in the mountains.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve been given?
What was your first job?
I left high school and got my driving licence and started to do delivery driving. When I first came to the UK, I did Fruit picking for few months, then got my job at Countrystyle.

What are the best and worst moments of your career so far?
The best thing is Countrystyle has given me a chance to improve myself and my life and there are still a lot of opportunities for me here to learn even more.
What one thing would you change about the waste /recycling industry?
Education on how to recycle properly, to show people what type of waste goes in what bin.
If you weren’t in the waste management industry, what would you be doing?

I would be a Volleyball player!
Film or Box set - what are you watching?
Netflix. I am watching the re-make of Poldark.
I like to be impartial and respect other people’s opinions. I would help if someone asked me to help them.
What is the best advice you would give? Work as a team, it better to be part of something...
Who is your biggest inspiration?
My father, we work together at Countrystyle, he still likes to keep his eye on me, to make sure I am doing my job, correctly!! Also, Trevor Heathcote - I admire, how he has built Countrystyle recycling from such humble beginnings into the success it is today.
What are the best and worst moments of your career so far?
Because I am on placement year from university working life is still very fresh, so I cannot really signify specific moments! Although when I go back to university in September, I think it will be a shock to the system going from working life back to student life!
What one thing would you change about the agriculture industry?


To be able to control the weather. Very unrealistic but it would make everything so much easier and make farmers feel much happier.

Below Deck – very easy watching entertainment
Where would you like to time travel to?
I would love to be able to go back and explore beaches across the world before they have become spoilt.

A bit about Amelia Lee...
Amelia is currently on her placement year as part of her course at Harper Adams University studying Agriculture with Farm and Business Management. She has spent the last year working alongside the team at FGS Organics, assisting with environmental compliance.

What can’t you live without?
My dog, she is called Betty and is a wired hair dachshund and she is so cute!
What building would you like to be locked in overnight?
My university’s Students Union Bar! Full of my friends, music and drinks!
What would you do if you were Prime Minister for a day?
Stop the clocks going back in October. I hate the dark winter evenings!
