Hello! Is your guild or quilt group looking for a national quilting educator to speak at your next event? Or teach at your retreat or class? Then look no further!

My name is Christy, and I am so excited to meet you! I am a somewhat new national quilting educator who brings fun and energy to your quilt guild meetings I have recently relocated to South Louisiana and I am ready to start traveling and sharing my quilting journey with your guild or sewing group!

I have had a long career in public speaking, both in the quilting world and 15 years in the defense industry I feel as a speaker it is my job to entertain and encourage everyone in their quilting journey, as well as give some gentle pointers along the way

Throughout my quilting career, I have been a guild president, set up sewing groups for charity, and become a professional long arm quilter

In 2018, I had the privilege to become a Certified Quilting Instructor with Studio 180 Design - which I love because of their accuracy and amazing results In 2020 - just before the start of the pandemic - I opened a retail quilting store called Cottage Grove Quilt Company In July 2023, Cottage Grove Quilt Company closed and I relocated to South Louisiana launching Acadia Quilting in June 2024

Speaking Engagement Offerings

Trunk Show - $325

(45 min)

When I travel to your group, I come with a tremendous amount of quilts to show and share while sharing my very personal journey of how I became a quilter, the lessons along way, transitioned to instructor and business owner. This very popular presentation is always fun and a great way to encourage all quilters no matter their level.

I also introduce the audience to all the Studio 180 Tools and how they increase your accuracy in piecing.

Included in the presentation I go over how to make your Long Arm Quilter love you and tips for pressing your quilts to get the best results.

I provide handouts, door prizes and a pop up shop. My only requirement for a trunk show is a minimum of 2 volunteers to help hold quilts for show and share. Trunk Show Fee does not include travel requirements.

Half-Day Workshop - $350 (3 hours)

Turning Up Pumpkins

Learn one simple block with the Studio 180 Tucker Trimmer 3 and make a fun festive fall quilt; PLUS it's a stash buster!

Tumbling Triangles

This fun quilt is all about color and placement. You will learn to precisely make a triangle in a square and then watch it tumble!

Skill Builder: Star 60

Freelance

Using the Wedge Star and Tucker Trimmer 3 the mystery of this quilt is solved. Each student will learn how to construct the 3 different types of blocks for the Wedge Star and expertly put them together in this gorgeous quilt!

SEW many 60 degree quilts and yet they feel out of reach. Not so! Learn with Christy and she will crack the code on 60-degree quilting. Students will learn the basic 60 star plus several advance techniques. Requires: Star 60 Tool from Studio 180 Design + (2) 60-degree Technique Sheets

Maximum students for a workshop: 25 Students

Travel costs for both a trunk show and workshop will be calculated from Tickfaw, LA and are as follows: Mileage at the current rate of $0.655 cents If travel time is more than 90 miles of Tickfaw, LA; lodging will be required. Christy will arrange lodging at the nearest Holiday Inn Hotel. A detailed invoice will be provided to the group for mileage and lodging expenses. Payment expected at time of services.

When traveling to your group, Christy will bring with her a pop-up shop.

A contract will be sent to your organization for signature. Included in the contract will be the estimated travel costs.
