This villa was a regional agricultural centre that was in use throughout almost the entire Roman period. Its evolution over 600 years has allowed us to know where the residential, rural and farming areas were. You can stroll through the living quarters and, with the aid of the 3D virtual recreation, you’ll be able to see how the house was run, the way of life in it and how its inhabitants were organised.

In 1285, after being invaded by Philip III, the Bold, of France, and defended by Peter III, the Great, the town of Peralada was burnt down. During the tour, Ramon Muntaner, one of the Catalan chroniclers, tells us all about these events and describes how some of the historical characters, were involved in them. The result of the reconstruction was Peralada as we know it today, although it was not at all easy to raise it from the ashes, without money and with both the town and its people devastated.
