Mass vaccination plan underway Valencian Government seeking large spaces to facilitate vaccination The Generalitat Valenciana has created a working group to identify large spaces suitable for health workers to begin a mass vaccination programme in April, in the style of the United States. President of the Generalitat, Ximo Puig, revealed that the objective is that "the vast
majority" of Valencian citizens are immunized by summer. Puig announced that the Valencian Community is guaranteed to receive a minimum of 559,020 covid-19 vaccines before March 31 and that from April ("if the pharmaceutical companies comply")
mass vaccination can commence. The Generalitat has created a working group to locate large spaces (such as car parks or sports facilities) in which health workers can undertake a massive vaccination such as that which is already underway in the United Kingdom or the United States. Authorities are hopeful that next month will see the arrival of more vials of the AstraZeneca vaccine and that Janssen (a Belgian pharmaceutical company and subsidiary of the American corporation Johnson & Johnson) will obtain European authorization for its vaccine in March.
