Plans for 7490 new houses unblocked Building in La Hoya de Torrevieja area is to go ahead and will begin at Easter 2019, it has been announced. The area of land close to the International Auditorium has looked to be in limbo for a long time and now it is planned for 7,490 homes to be built there over the next couple of years. The 1,800,000 square metres of land is the last large area of building land that is available in the town. There are some stipulations that go with it. The builders will be required to include an area of parkland

between the last row of houses and the La Mata natural park. This is expected to act as buffer, protecting the park from this additional residential area. The developer will also have to plough back ₏450,000 into
