La Siesta murderer out on bail See Main Advert on page 27
Irish-expat Wayne Walsh, aged 32, has been released from prison in Alicante after paying just 3,000€ bail money. Wayne is accused of murdering close friend Carl Carr in September 2018 in a jealous rage over his ex-girlfriend Milly Leonard who is also out on bail. Carr’s
body was found early 2019 in a shallow grave next to the AP7 motorway between Benijofar and Algorfa. It’s alleged that Walsh battered Carr to death in a fit of fury over Milly Lenoard who they both had sexual relationships with. According to police Walsh used a knuckle duster to finish off his love rival in an apartment in La Siesta. Leonard, described as a British model, was arrested alongside Natalie Edwards, a local bar manager for concealing a crime and spent two months in jail before being released on a bail bond of 22,000 euros. Now Walsh has also been released on a lesser bail bond of around 3,000 euros after spending 18 months behind bars, although his freedom hinges on
reporting to court daily. A third female British national was arrested at the time on suspicion of making a false statement and a Spanish man was charged with helping Walsh to dump the body. However, not all the alleged culprits involved in the murder of Carr remain on bail before trial. A judge in Torrevieja has issued a European arrest warrant for another alleged perpetrator in the murder who skipped the country back to Ireland. Simon Fahy, 27 years-old, had been taunting Spanish police from Ireland on social media after the incident but will now be forced to explain his actions and the allegation of covering up a crime. Fahy had previously beaten an extradition order issued as it was rejected by the courts in Ireland.
