Foreign residents targeted in padrón registration push The City Council is encouraging all expats to register on the padrón with a new and targeted campaign called “Orihuela advances with you”.

he Councillor for Statistics, Noelia Grao, in collaboration with the Councillors for International Residents
and Administration Modernisation, directed respectively by Sofía Álvarez and Miguel Ángel Fernández, have presented a new campaign to encourage the registration of
foreigners across the municipality with the aim of being able to increase funding for key services such as the Emergency Services Centre which would provide dedicated
ambulances and fires engines for the Coast. The Councillor said: "With this campaign, we seek to maintain and increase the population figures of Orihuela as a large municipality, because with them we can increase and improve public services and the quality of them." It is vital that people understand there is a direct link between the services on the coast and the number of people on the padrón, the more people that register, the better the services allocated to the coast. Information brochures that will be distributed in Orihuela city and along the coast, highlighting the benefits of registering as a resident on the municipal padron, in order to access public services such as health or education.
