America’s Beauty Show 2026 welcomes the Headquarters Barber Competition – a high-energy, live showcase of skill, creativity, and precision. Competitors will go head-to-head in timed challenges designed to test technique, artistry, and presentation in front of a live audience. All categories will have a student & professional division
This exclusive half-day event is hosted by the team at Headquarters Barbers, featuring four dynamic categories, live judging, and audience engagement.
Prizes:
Each category will honor the Top 3 competitors in both the Student & Professional Categories will receive trophies/medals and exclusive product prize packages.
• 1st Place: Trophy + product prize package (value at least $850)
• 2nd Place: Trophy + product prize package (valued at up to $500)
• 3rd Place: Medal + product prize package (valued at up to $300)
Winners will also be recognized live on stage at America’s Beauty Show, celebrated on ABS social channels, and highlighted as leaders in the barbering community.
A panel of expert barbers, educators, and industry leaders will evaluate each round based on technical skill, creativity, overall execution, and stage presence. Winners in each category will be awarded custom trophies and recognition on the ABS stage.
Important Information for Competitors:
- Competitors must provide their own live models
- All tools and products must be supplied by the competitor
- Time limits are strictly enforced – late starts will not be permitted
- Judges’ decisions are final
- One (1) electrical outlet per competitor provided
Competition Categories & Rules :
Fast Fade Battle (15 minutes)
Think you’ve got the cleanest fade in the game? This lightning-fast challenge pushes barbers to deliver flawless fades under pressure, showcasing sharp blending and technical control in just 15 minutes.
- Shortest length allowed on top: #2 guard
- No restriction on top length beyond the minimum
- Sides must be faded from zero up to the desired length
- Judged on cleanliness, blend precision, and technical execution – not speed
Anything Goes Battle (45 minutes)
The ultimate freestyle round where creativity has no limits. From bold designs to unique finishes, barbers can unleash their imagination and prove their artistry on the competition stage.
- Open format – no rules
- Competitors are encouraged to push boundaries in design, creativity, and technical skill
- Judged on overall balance between creativity and technique, with emphasis on originality
Gentleman’s Touch (30 minutes)
Classic refinement meets technical precision. Using scissors only, barbers must craft a polished, gentlemanly look that highlights mastery of form, balance, and detail.
- Scissors only (no clippers permitted; beard work may be included)
- Focus on classic refinement, styling, and precision cutting
- Judged on technical accuracy, form, and overall finished look
Styling Battle (10 minutes)
A race against the clock to create a head-turning style. Competitors use their go-to products and tools to shape a finished look that’s innovative, fashion-forward, and stage-ready.
- Competitors use their preferred products and tools to craft a show-stopping style
- Judged on technique, creativity, and finished presentation
- The style that best blends artistry and wearability will win

- Don’t be late for your class. Also m ake sure you know what to tools and products to bring to it. It’s listed in the Digital Advance Program within the workshops. If it’s not contact ABS at 800-648-2505.
6. SHOP THE SHOW - Make a shopping list so you know what you are looking for as soon as you arrive!
- When you walk in you are going to be so excited. Your list will keep you focused. It helps, we’re told!

- Walk up to Beauty Legends and/or ABS educators and ask them questions. That’s what they are there for.
- Look through our classes , the FREE ones and the Hands-On ones. Take a couple classes and learn some new techniques!
- Check out our TWO STAGES . The RUNWAY in HALL F and The Barbershop Stage in HALL A this year. We will have the BEST of the BEST on stage. Take it all in. Then take it home.
- Get in a little shopping on the show floor as well. You need to keep your tools & styling products fresh and stocked!
