New gymnasium at Harold C. Kaffie MS
Employee giving campaign CCISD has begun its annual Employee Giving Campaign, benefiting the Corpus Christi Education Foundation. Support CCEF through a payroll deduction or a one-time gift option.
Harold C. Kaffie Middle School held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate their new, additional gymnasium. Thanks to voter support of Bond 2018, the new gymnasium is 10,000 square-feet to accommodate the growing athletics programs at the middle school. While attendance was strictly limited, you can view the ceremony, which was livestreamed on the CCISD Facebook page.

“Celebrating Our Differences” mural at Faye Webb Elementary School
Faye Webb Elementary School Assistant Principal Kimberly Ellis led the effort to install a new mural, “Celebrating our Differences,” to reflect the school’s cultural diversity. Ms. Ellis worked with local artist, Daniel De Leon, to create the artwork. “We will continue to acknowledge, highlight, learn and ultimately become culturally responsive in every aspect of the learning environment,” Ellis said. Dyslexia information meeting Learn about identification and evaluation of dyslexia and ideas on how to help students through virtual learning. Addiitonally, the presentation will share how CCISD supports and aids our students with dyslexia for success.

HUMAN RESOURCES REMINDERS Last Week Reminder: Biometrics Form This is the last week to submit the Biometrics Screening Form to continue receiving the monthly discount of $60 per month for the health plan year of 2021. Employees and spouses covered by the health plan will need to complete and submit the form by October 31, 2020. The form can be found in the Forms folder at https://www.ccisd.us/HumanResources/ EmployeeBenefits. Employees and spouses can also call RediMD at 1-866-989-2873 to complete this task. If you have submitted the form for yourself and/or your spouse, you would have received an email from CCISDhr informing you that Human Resources was in receipt of the form and no further action was needed on your part. 2021 Benefits Open Enrollment 2021 Benefits Open Enrollment is now underway and will run through November 12, 2020, 4:30 p.m. Every employee is to log in to the Enrollment System and elect or waive insurance plans. The District has transitioned to an in-house benefits management system in which you will need your District network login to access the 2021Open Enrollment information. For assistance with your CCISD network Username and Password, please contact the Help Desk at 878-3911 or email helpdesk@ccisd.us. • Exciting News! There are two new insurance options offered for 2021 - Pet Insurance from Nationwide and MediVac Air Ambulance from Medical Air Services Association (MASA). The brochures for each will be on their respective page with coverages and premiums. • To obtain a quote for Pet Insurance, you will be directed to an outside link during the open enrollment to Nationwide to enter your pet information. DO NOT CLOSE YOUR OPEN ENROLLMENT PAGE. Once done with the Pet Insurance quote page and it is submitted, return to your Open Enrollment Page and continue on with your enrollment. • Please do not use the Back Arrow key at any time to return to previous screens. This will cause you to have to start over. Use the “Navigate Benefit Options” button located at the top of every screen or the “Previous Screen” button at the bottom to move about the system. The Blue Cross Blue Shield medical plan and all of the other insurance plans’ rates and coverages remain the same for 2021. The District is pleased to announce the continuation of a $575 per employee per month contribution towards your health insurance premium, which represents an 88% contribution rate. Your insurance coverages will be effective on January 1, 2021. If you have any questions regarding your benefit options or need additional information on the open enrollment process, please contact the Human Resources Department at insurance@ccisd.us or 695-7250. To get started with your 2021 Benefits Open Enrollment, you will receive an email with the Enrollment link from CCISDhr. A reminder email will be sent to you with the Enrollment Link until your enrollment is completed. The deadline to enroll is November 12 at 4:30 p.m. You can explore your options throughout the Enrollment System; however, you will need to complete the enrollment in its entirety in one session or your elections/waives will not save.
