CONGRATULATIONS MR. PORFIRIO ZAMORA! Mr. Zamora was named as the Leadership Secondary Winner for the H-E-B Excellence in Education awards. The Leadership Category honors teachers with 10 to 20 years in the classroom.

Winners will receive a $10,000 check for themselves and a $10,000 grant for their school.

Mr. Zamora is a biology teacher at Veterans Memorial High School and is the 2017-2018 CCISD Secondary Teacher of the Year. Please join us in congratulating Mr. Zamora for this outstanding honor!

HOW CAN I TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN COVID-19, THE FLU, A COLD OR SEASONAL ALLERGIES? Some symptoms are similar between these respiratory illnesses. This chart can help you figure out if you may be feeling symptoms of allergies or a respiratory illness like COVID-19. If you have a fever and a cough, call your doctor.

If you have seasonal allergies, there are things you can do to treat at home.

MORE INFORMATION AND RESOURCES REMINDER BIOMETRICS SCREENING FORM In order to continue the monthly discount of $60 per month for the health plan year of 2021, employees and spouses covered by the District’s health insurance plan will need to complete and submit the Biometrics Screening Form by October 31, 2020.The form can be found in the Forms folder at https://www.ccisd.us/HumanResources/EmployeeBenefits.

May is National Mental Health Awareness Month which includes the emotional, psychological and social well-being of the whole person. CCISD is partnered with Family Counseling Service for the Employee Assistance Program (EAP). Each employee has 3 visits at no cost to the employee. Call 852-7415 to schedule an appointment. All appointments are confidential and information will not be released to CCISD. During these anxious times, we all appreciate a little extra kindness. If a coworker chooses to share health information, it’s certainly a good idea to support them while following CDC guidelines.
