COVID-19 Vaccine Toolkit for School Settings and Childcare Programs

Students – Asynchronous (remote learning) day. On these days, check Canvas for complete instructions from your teacher(s).

Monday, Feb. 15 Thursday, April 1 Friday, May 28 Schools will take attendance! Complete assignments by 11:59 p.m. to avoid an absence.

Teachers – On-campus, instructional planning day.

TIP! V-safe: Encourage all vaccinated staff to enroll in the v-safe After Vaccination Health Checker and share answers to the frequently asked questions about v-safe.

Teachers, school staff and childcare workers across the nation are now eligible to receive vaccines to help protect them against COVID-19. On March 2, 2021 the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services issued a directive that all states immediately make eligible staff of Pre-K through 12 schools and childcare workers for COVID-19 vaccination across all vaccination providers. Pharmacy locations that are part of CDC’s Federal Retail Pharmacy Program are prioritizing teachers, school staff, and childcare workers for COVID-19 vaccination during the month of March. The toolkit below is designed to provide COVID-19 vaccine information to staff in schools and childcare programs. This includes teachers, childcare workers, teaching assistants, paraprofessional educators, office staff, bus drivers, school nurses and counselors, school nutrition staff, coaches and athletic trainers, custodians, and security staff. Educational leaders can use the ideas and materials in this toolkit to communicate with their staff.

March is National Social Work Month. School social workers are trained mental health professionals who provide services for social and emotional health. They also aid in adjustment to school and society.
